Looked it over again today. Car is rough, but definitely savable. If I don't sell it soon, my rolled Bronco II may become a donor. At least I could say I saved it from getting crushed and have some fun with it.

NO NO NO! Put down the Nyquil. The Simca is not Hillbilly material.

(Don't ******** me, you just looking to show up at the eurotrash show with it and piss off the beret wearing wannabes)

Lowriders Art you are correct there are not to many Minx Converts in the USA I need a left wind wing ***embly & cant even find one in the UK. Future plans call for Tigerizing it. But funds are very tight now so it just sits.

Car farmer, thanks for the blow up on that, wish I knew how to do that. And yes, that picture screwed me up the first time I saw it about thirty years ago too! Of course you don't need it... none of us need any of this stuff, but it would be truly cool... Now if I didn't have an entire back yard full of "raw material" for the next six projects....

That's my take on this, too. No way I'd butcher a car that rare and desirable to a restorer into a g***er when there are so many other appropriate candidates out there that nobody would miss.

And it lets the other guy deal with the window gl*** problem, too.

    :)

Try one of the online translation services. Both yahoo and Google have them, I think.

You just copy and paste the French text into the box, click to select French to English and then tell it to translate and you'll usually get a p***able translation.

Biggest problem is shipping and transportation. I'm very negotiable on the price, and willing to help ship to a better spot for pickup. Problem is shipping costs more than the car is worth. Restorer's are saying yes very rare, but too rough. You would think some restorer would want it for parts. That's what makes rodders great. We save stuff that was too rough for the restorers so they can ***** later.

Thanks Doc, read your post earlier. Disabled Vet myself. Who doesn't have VA problems? Can't believe how things can get so screwed up.
    Keep the faith.

  15. Thanks mate, my beret is off too you!!
    Stay strong.

  16. Well, it's not the money; it's the cir***stances.

As a matter of fact, I have a '67(ish) Kellison Formula Vee project, and a dis***embled '54 331 to get rid of. So, that would probably buy the car, and ship it here... where I'd have the problem of trying to figure out where to park it (the condo ***'n would **** a brick), and have to come up with money to actually do anything with it.

And, yeah, the resto guys will piss and moan when some hot rodder saves it from the crusher. But, they won't actually spend their own $$$ on it.

Like I heard someone say (it was about boat guys, but it's appropriate here, too), "they have deep pockets, but short arms."

But, yeah, I'd love to be able to figure out a way to do something with it.

Thecarfarmer, I understand the situation. I also need to get rid of a 58 Edsel Sedan delivery, 60 ford 2dr wagon, and a 61 Ford shortbox unibody pickup. Along with deep pockets and short arms, comes a"good head on their shoulders, but a foreskin around their necks". Oh well, this is an interesting poll, and someone will come along eventually.

I don't know if a Hemi will fit in a Bronco II ch***is, but I imagine the tires will rub. Just Kidding. I'll lay off the Nyquil.

This might be of interest to you as far as inspiration. I'm currently doing up a Simca P60 wagon, I believe the same driveline as the coupe you've shown. Mines recieving the entire driveline and suspension system from a Holden Piazza (Isuzu Impulse to you) as the wheelbase is within 1mm and the track is close enough to fit.
2L Turbo, 4 wheel disks, 5spd, cruise control and aircon in a 1000kg wagon of which only 1350 were ever made should be lots of fun!

I used to have one of those, in much better condition, painted Hugger Orange as near as I could tell.

I've often wished I had not sold it, twenty years ago, but I had thirty cars at the time.

A 289/302 will fit fairly easily, I got mine cheap after the former owner scared himself silly and pulled the 302 back out.

These had some interesting features, the original side/door gl*** overlapped and did not use a seal, very clean side view.

I would make a stealth Cobra killer out of it, looking mostly stock, with a 302 and upgraded suspension/brakes.

Your Rally car concept comes closest to what I would do.
These are semi-rare, I have seen a couple turn up on other boards and eBay.
Those silly side pipes are not original.
The windshield will be your biggest problem, but it should be possible to find.

My old car may still be lurking around the bay area of No. Kalifornia.

Devilishdesigner, that is going to be awesome. I think that may be a very possible option. I just can't afford to do it. Richard/SIA been thinking about that windshield. The frame and top will straighten out fairly easily. There must be a car that is close to that windshield. Perhaps a windshield could be cut down.

Would love to build it. Many great ideas have been shared. Unfortunately health is not going to permit it. That's why it is for sale. Someone needs to take these great ideas and run with it. The price has been reduced.
