  2. Sorry about your dad! Hope everything turns out OK.
My wife Irene turned 60 last March, so, she decided to do something for Charity. On Aug.26 she is doing a tandem Skydive from 12000ft. for Cancer research. She's a damned site braver than me!!
    Charlie!!!

  3. Thoughts are with you. I'm going through the same shit with my mom. Taking her for radiation in the morning tomorrow. Cancer in both lungs, left femur and now 3 tumors on her spine. Been through chemo and radiation once already and it isn't stopping this curse called cancer. Our lifestyles will be the end of us....

My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of need. Its always so hard for us to lose family or friend and especially to cancer. I hope he can beat this horrable disease and return to what he loves to do.

I lost my dad 6 years ago to cancer.. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about him.. I still have dreams of me and him sitting on the front porch nursing a cold one after mowing his lawn.. :(

Sorry to hear about your father, as a kid I spent many summers in chillicothe, il. at my uncles houses. They both worked for cat. down the road. I wish you, your dad and family the best.

  17. this is gonna sound pretty weird but...my ex-wife has had stage 4 colon cancer for the last 3 years and while she is still around, my kids decided to have a celebration of life while she is still among us...so we all put it together in her home town, invited all her co workers, and her family and friends... we had no idea of how to do it or how it would turn out, but let me tell you, it was the nicest thing that could have happened to her. Much testimony of her life was given by those in attendance and it was a very moving event, emotionally, but I am so thankful that it was done before she departs this world rather than afterwards. My best friend and I were talking during the celebration and we thought, why wait til someone kicks the bucket before we say things about them afterwards... we should all just pick someone in our midst and have a celebration of life for them while they are still around to appreciate it. just dont make sense to do it after they depart. Just wanted y'all to know it can be done...

My Pop's went thru the same shit (stage 4 colon) a couple of years ago. A few major surgeries, Chemo, radiation, more surgeries............They just removed his "port" last week because it has been over 2 years with no bad stuff showing up!
Wed. night my father, brother, and I all drove our 31s to a local cruise. Don't give up, these old "grease monkeys" are tougher than we give them credit for! Dad does good now and can be found at any cruise with-in 100 miles showing off his ride. Be there thru the treatments (they get rough) and we hope to see you and your dad at the Pile-up! Keep his spirits up and don't let him give in! Our prayers are with you and your family!

Get a vedeo recorder and tape his old stories, with him telling them. I wish I had done this with my grandfather who died of cancer in 94.

Hell of a tough break. I know what cancer is about also, having lost a wife of 32 years to it in 2007. We went the gamut, from chemo to radiation, to eventually a stem cell transplant. It will definately make you have an appreciation for life, good times, and being together. I am wishing the very best for your Dad, you, and your family. Joel

UPDATE!! Dad went to the doc yesterday, got chemo and radiation. Scan results showed that the cancer is not any better, but not any worse either. He said this is about the worst he has felt so far(this has been going on since March), but he is hanging in there. Thanks
