Hello all, jonzcustomshop pointed me to the board for the 67-72 chevy truck board. A bit about me, My name is Derric, everyone call me KD, I'm a trucker and a hotrodder. I truck all week and run my rod shop, KD Rod Works, on the weekend. I shoot for period correct, traditional styled cars, real hot rods. I hear ya'all dont like the term "ratrod", and neither do I. I believe that "ratrods" are cheap, unsafe and scabby built hunks of cl***ic iron. However I do find myself using the term, cuz lets face it, "ratrods" are hot and I do make a living selling them. So dont flame me to bad if I slip and use the term. I do custom metal cutting on a plasma cam machine and build many custom parts like hairpins, caliper brackets and spring mounts. I have a nice collection of parts and cars, like my new project, a 54 chevy 210 2 door post. This car has been my "unicorn" for over a decade, having never been able to get my hands on one but coming close many times. I finally got one, which brings me to this board, I'm looking for parts good enough for a driver, so PM me if you have some goodies I can use.
Derric, Welcome to the H.A.M.B. from Arkansas City, KS. This page is for the Intro's, you might try the main board and cl***ifieds for the parts that you need. Good Luck with your quest for goodies! firstnomad www.angelfire.com/jazz/flatlandstudio
Thanks for the welcomes, I have been hitting the cl***ified hot and heavy nomad. Where you from wild cat? I would post pics johnny, but I lost a harddrive a couple months ago and lost all the pics of my toys.
Here's some pics of my 54 chevy 210. I've only had it for alittle over a week, and its coming together from what it started as. She was rescued from the crusher, she's also very clean and rust free. The plan is to lay her low and make it go...Mild SBC, 700R, wide whites on steelies, Dark satin green, Diamond tuck and roll. The body will be mostly stock for now, Just frenched head and taillights, peaked and smoothed hood, shaved handles, emblems, and most of the chrome except the belt line. I will be starting a build thread as soo as I really get rolling on her. I gotta finish my sons 27 T tudor before I build my own car. Its got a 7" chop, 3" channel, 427 bbc with 3 dueces and zoomies with a saginaw 4 speed all bolted into a custom KD rodworks ch***is. I will post some pics of it soon
this one I think has tinted gl***... 4door rear seat work in a 2door? only front seat he has, it is not a split back...
Bless you for saving the Chevy from the Monster Masher !!! firstnomad www.angelfire.com/jazz/flatlandstudio
Sweet action Johnny! I will be up in 2 weeks, we will make a day of it and build a pile of chevy parts. Thanks for the pics bro. Thanks nomad, It's hard to save them all! I hate to admitt it, but I haul s**** iron for a living and it breaks my heart to go to work everyday and see all the cl***ic iron meet its death. But I have saved a few from the shredder......
you deserve some 'atta-boy's' though, not everyone has the opportunity to save them from the Monster Masher, .............. once they are crushed, they are never to be again! firstnomad
Well thanks for the atta-boy nomad, I just try to do my part to preserve the history of this cl***ic iron from day long since past. My girl is a hot-rodder as well and has a very rusty crusty 53 ford customline more door, the kid hauling custom.....
Well, only 4 days till me and my pregnant girl head to missoula mt for a weekend vacation and cl***ic chevy parts run. Jonnhy Z and Runninlo have been awesome in doing some searching of parts and putting us up for the weekend to make this happen, Just wanna say thanks to my friends in advance for everything. I'm really looking forward to seeing both of you fellers again. As for the other hambers, I will be posting a bunch of pictures from this run to rob from the dead and give new life to a forgotten survivor. The plan for my 54 210 2 door post is: 235 6 banger with 2 dueces and a header, otherwise stock mostly original interior, change of color prehaps mildly lowered on www dark suede green paint bullnosed and shaved emblems, handles but keeping most of the body chrome stock grill with 9-13 teeth I hope to get nearly all of the hard parts to make the car complete this weekend, then start ***embling her and making the mods after the car is complete. I'm going to keep 3 pedals, but most likely upgrade to an over drive 3 speed or a 5 speed. The goal is to build a comfortable driver and keep a tight budget of around $3500 including the cost of the car. I guess I should start a build thread to keep evryone updated on the progress. My girl is also going to be joining this board and showing the progress of her 53 moredoor ford customline........
