actually 3.2Mil with buyer premium. Cool thing is the previous owner would take it to shows like the GG show in Puyullap for the average guy to see and touch

Actually that is not a Corvette, it's a one off Oldsmobile. Kind of looks like a Vette though. Harley Earl built a whole series of cars with that same basic body shape. A Pontiac, a Buick, this Olds, and the Chevy Nomad.

  7. The cool thing is it will be on display in Colorado at some new museum! Anyone know who that buyer is?

There is only one of the Olds. There are three of the 58 Vette retractable hardtop, with one guy owning two of them.

  11. No, he said he had two "other" H.Earl concept cars.

Also, the seller fee was 240K , the buyer fee was 240K......BJ makes $500,000.00 on one sale for nothing other than having a tent in the desert.

I think I would rather go to a museum with 300 rat rods at $10,000 EACH!

I totally agree....But then again, I dont have 3mil big ones. I caught that auction on the B/J auction and my eyes could believe the money. The weather has been pretty ****ty or I would have headed up there to check out some goodies that I can't afford.

The sister car, Pontiac Bonneville, was at GM nationals last year at Carlisle. It had a bubble top and was copper colored. i hope to see this one sometime.

I think I just **** my pants, A guy I know down the street from me has something like that in his backyard he told me his dad worked for GM in the 50's and took out the backdoor, its just the whole body made from really thick fibergl*** and sitting on some 30's cadillac ch***is just for rolling. I'm not sure if he has a reason to lie he wouldnt sell it to me.

I was just watching and the "Ferrari" dude was the guy they showed buying it. I wonder if he's the actual owner or just a flunky? Anyway the Discovery network must be making alot of money!

The Buick Wildcat was another of the GM styling exercises on the sportscar theme in the early '50s.
