if you are only going for one day make it down wensday for the radir wheel party it is better then lead east.
I have never been yet. I have to get some **** taken care of on the truck before I can go. The friction shocks keep loosing up on the front after driving it for long distance then you have to hold the hell on until you can pull over to re adjust them.......lol.........I want to put some different shocks up front. Plus I have 4.75x16 up front that I was told could be helping to be apart of the issue
Better than Lead East? Hmmmmmmmm. I attend 50 Shows during each year. Every Year and Lead East is the best out of all of them and we do shows from the East Coast to West Coast. There will be nothing happening on Weds really at Lead East. Sorry but I have never even heard of radir wheel party. If you plan on going to Lead East, Do not expect to just go for a few hours. There is too much to see and do. We usually leave about 10pm in the evening and it is still going.
I'm going to try and make it...it's only 20 minutes from my house, at most! ;P It'll be my first time. Wish I could bring my jalopy, but I wouldn't want it being seen unless it were around girls of the same caliber :O People might accidentally think it was a r*t rod
Will be at "Deadmans Curve" Weds night.... will be at "Lead East" all weekend.... hangin out by the rod repair shop
Ummmm, not really sure right now. I've been to every single one put on (since 83 if you're counting), but the last couple kind of put me off. The whole atmosphere of the "party" has changed. The allowing in of Street Machines, Vettes, Mustangs, Camaros, etc. has really changed the personality of the show. I used to go when Terry said "You'll never see a Mustang at Lead East", and I thought that was the greatest. Kustoms and old style rods ONLY. It's a different kind of person who owns these, and the atmosphere of the show really reflected that philosophy. I realize the target audience for the show is changing, and he has to pull in enough cars to make his money, and I really DO appreciate a nicely done muscle car (I've build a few myself). But this show used to be so special, different from all the others. A show just for US!!!! It seems odd nowadays, that all over the country, there are more and more shows catering just to traditional cars, exclusively, but now, one of the few that has always been that way, has changed! It still is better than almost any show I've attended, for sure, but it has been gradually going down since the early years...maybe I'm too nostalgic, or don't want change....but that was the premise of the show in the beginning, and HAS been for over 25 years,. I'm just saddened that it has changed so much. Maybe that's why it's so hard to decide to go.
LEAD EAST is for 1972 & earlier cars and trucks. Muscle cars, etc. of pre-'73 vintage are welcome. Any chopped car/truck or hydraulic or air bag-lifted Lowrider welcome, regardless of vintage. True later custom cars/ trucks welcome, regardless of year (Send a photo with Registration for OK - A newer 'Vette with a hood scoop and custom paint is not a custom - i.e. a "leadsled", for example.) No 18-wheelers, no motorcycles; no bikes, skateboards, roller blades, roller skates, scooters or undersized vehicles (for safety reasons). Permits required in advance from Lead East for all Handicapped support vehicles (i.e. golf carts, etc.)
AS FAR BACK AS 1995 .. a guy was getting his 70 roadrunner in . pissed me off , since I had a 71 nova , but would never think of bringing it to LEAD EAST , been going since william paterson in 1985 I think last year was better than ever ...still tons of fifties cars there dumping on LEAD EAST got popular when some cars were damaged in the meadowlands sheraton , BAD NEIGHBORHOOD ....a lot "insiders" were not so inside ..so they got disillusioned THE ONLY THING THAT IS GETTING ON MY NERVES NOW IS THE PARTY TENTS TAKING OVER THE PLACE
get off your **** and go you know your wish you did it won.t be the same without you shows change causes people ***** and stop going look what happen to the gettyburg show lead east is still the place for kustoms ! and lead east and richie,s party and a not to miss week-end yor buddy teddyp
Actually its been going since Flemington in 1983..It was at William Paterson in 84 and 85..And The Meadowlands is a bad neighborhood?? Hahahahhaha, thats funny ****....I guess North Jersey is scary to those South Jersey guys...
