This isn't a tech post or anything like that, It's just what happens when too many beers cross over the bench. Lukester came down for some swill, and after drinking most of the day we needed something to do. He said Lets chop this ****er. Of course not knowing any better we went at it. We were trying for 4" but I think we cut on the wrong side of the tape. After measuring everything there was 6" missing. I guess we gotta make the best of it. It might look alright when it's done.
What do you mean it will look "alright"?............Dude, that thing looks awsome. What are you running for a rear spring and crossmember? I absolutely love the stance and would like mine to sit just the same. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
LOOKS REAL GOOD!!! I think the unwritten rule is: HI-boy 6" chop...... perfect. channeled car 3" chop max. just my opinion....as a new GRENADE INSPECTOR!!!
HELL YEA it looks good!!! c'mon over to my place, hell i'll gitcha drunker'n a skunk and turn ya loose on my car! rofl looks like a sweet chop to me! Traves
Looks like if you **** heads wouldnt have got so drunk and cut between the tape lines instead of above and below you woulda had about a 4 inch chop. Maybe you measured it with a metric tape? I like it ...you done good. I owned a 29 model a sedan for about 20 years and I saw it again recently and I told the guy that owns it now the only thing id change is to hammer the hell out of it.. Again .. Good Job Dave
I think that it looks great. My plans are for unchopped because I'm 6'-4" +/- tall, but you got me thinking now. Might just have to try a 3"-4" chop. I got a question for you about the rear axle. What is the length from drum to drum? I like the look that you have going, fits up good to the body.
Let me know when your ready Brock. I have some of that tape laying around here somewhere. That chop looks righteous! Is that what happens when you drink? I'll take that under advi*****t.
In addition to the width of the rear axle, what size are the front and rear tires. I am working on a 30 coupe on 32 rails and think you have really nailed the stance and chop. Looking good.
I second that ! Looks like you got a little set-back on the motor placement too...perfect. Put one of those front mounted blower set-ups in there..that would be the ****. Looking good !
The funniest part of chopping this car was when MAX WEDGE , Haystack and I set the roof back on...... The 6'7" HAYSTACK got REAL PALE...... and REAL quiet, He must have been thinking how in the HELL is he going to fit in that car. I told him.... Comfort is NOT important, as long as you look COOL, He said..." I think we shoulda cut it seven!!!!!"....... LUKESTER
