Can this car look tough & cool, like bulldog handsome,.......or are they just plain ugly????? Back your opinion up with pix!!!!!!!!
Both...........some call the 63 Dodges UGLY, but for UGLY you need a 60 or 61...we race some of both....a 61 called "Fugly" and I am in the process of building a 60 2 door wagon ...the "Texas Whale"..........Clay Kossuth out of the St. Louis area runs a 63 called "Max Attack"...it is both brutal and ugly at the same time...beauty is in the eye of the beholder....if it is a 2 door...get it and enjoy...........j Mark
63 Model 330 I don't know - you tell me if it's ugly. 75% done, but I'll sell it as the last 25% is not going to happen any time soon. I think it depends on what model 63 you are referring to. Cob
Ugly? Watch your moith. Everyday I look at mine I say out loud, "Man that car is beautiful? http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?userid=196948&cdate=20061030&ctime=204448
Hey, I've got an ***-high 4 door 61 Dodge 4 door.....I KNOW ugly! Now there's a 63 Dodge 4 door up for grabs.....I'm just looking for some inspirational pix.....IF there actually are any?
Not ugly at all, 63 Dodges and Plymouths are *****in!! I just picked up a 64 savoy wagon and am looking for a max wedge scoop. Where did you find yours?
Hey, Ugly?!!! only if you were born and raised on sorry ***ed GM "styling" '63 was some of Elwood Engles' first full styling for Chrysler Corporation. His first job at Chrysler was to ''deExner" all the vehicle lines. Kinda sad really, as this was the last of the ''pure Mopar era" styling. By the mid 60s to the present, only hidious to vulgar offerings. I sold my '61 Fury, '38 Dodge, '67 Cuda, but kept the '62 Dart post. " The ice cream truck in his neighborhood plays Helter-Skelter "
Ugly? I don't think so. I just bought a 4 door to use as a cruiser myself. My opinion...due to the simple styling and side gl*** treatment, this is one of only a few cars that look good as a 2 door sedan OR 4 door! Theres very little difference between the body structure of either. It's a very light car, so excellent performance per given engine...and ANY engine will fit that cave they call an engine compartment...shares many mechanical parts with all B bodies right into the early 70's...is easy to modify out back to get huge tires under if thats your thing...and best of all it isn't a Camaro, Mustang, Nova, Chevelle, Challenger etc. so it's HAMB approved to kick ***! Looking on the internet this last couple of weeks to learn about these little "fullsize intermediates" has made me realize that Chrysler REALLY WAS as far ahead of the pack as they liked to brag. Different...but it sure isn't ugly.
Of all the cars I've gotten rid of, my '63 Polara with 63,000 actual "old-lady-driven-miles" is STILL the one I miss the most. You either love the styling or ya hate it, and I happen to LOVE it!
I've owned my 63 Dodge 330 4 door for 31 years now. It moved out of the garage for the first time in 18 1/2 years two weekends ago to a good panelbeatrer for minor work. Out of all the vehicles I have owned this is my true baby - I'll die with it and I have threatened my kids that i will write in my will they are to bury me and the car once i die. Is it ugly?? I don't think so however it is unusual and you either like them or you don't. Mechanically they are straight forward - all B body stuff - some panels and fittings are hard to come by however they were part of the start of the muscle car era with the 426 W ramcharger engines, 4 speeds or a great torqueflite trans
Of course they're ugly and that is exactly why I love them! Got two in my garage right now; a Polara 500 convert and a 440 hardtop. You sure don't run into yourself when you go out for a cruise like the guys with the belly ****on Camaros and Mustangs!
Hopefully these photos come out OK - here is my ol girl home from the panel shop Next step is to finish off one door and then she's off to the painters. We've chosed a similar colour - bit lighter so its a full respray in the engine bay boot and door jam area. Interior was done 19 years ago and only used twice so its like brand new inside. Roll on our summer so I can progress her back to the road!!
