Well guys I have been thinking of naming the car, I keep thinking of Blue Moon-but its too typical, and considering I am a huge Patera fan hence Dimebag(not the other thing), please tell me what you think:

    Far Beyond Driven

its a hard *** metal song, and yet works on soo many levels!!! painted on skirts of course!!

You could also use"vulgar display of power"..just dont use def leppards song "pour some sugar on it"..nice job

  7. I too would lose the "far", but it's still good if you don't. A good name that hasn't been over used is hard to find!;)

That is a bad *** album and a good name for a car. Drag the waters favorite song by Pantera.

  10. You can't name your car. When the time is right it'll name itself and that will be its name. My buddy had a '66 Chevelle he tried to give all kinds of tough names but it was and will always be the Blue Squirrel, that was just it's name. Not being immune myself, I once had a Cadillac named BARF, that was just it's name, nothing I could do to change it.

I like the suggestion of dropping the far ....

... my opinion on naming cars has always been give it a name that means something to you and not really care what anyone else thinks

It will be running, hopefully today!! I was waiting for some parts-what a shocker, but today I plan to install the floor shifter yep I found a Hurst 4954 for a cheap price!! Finish up the linkage, put on the inspection cover, put the idle screw in the base of the carbs and hopefully she should fire up!!! Then it will be almost driven!!!

You DO know that it is evil to not share the story of how it acquired that moniker, don't you?

  18. You gotta drive it for a lil bit before you name it. You got to see what the cars personality is like.

And x2 on the story behind naming your car "BARF", I'm curious as hell to hear that one.

I always thought naming cars, especially when painted on, was kinda cheesy. Really cheesy. It reminds me of "Grease". Unless it's a race car. Just my opinion

I think you should stick with the Pantera reference all the way... don't shorten it.

Hell after working on the car for the last year and everything is a fight, and I mean everything freakin thing is a fight!! I might have to switch to Miss Misery!!! Especially after a 12.5 hour marathon yesterday trying to get the new motor to fire, just to have another electical gremlin kick me in the ***, I think Miss Misery painted on the skirts would be most fitting!!!!!

Don't overthink it,or take it too seriously. After you've been drivin' her a while you'll find yourself refering to her as something or other constantly. Then you put it on the trunk or skirts.Just my experience.
    Good luck

Also my 1st car, a 66 Chrysler Imperial, black and bad***, was known all over town as the "DEATHMOBILE". this was about the time Animal House was in theaters. My 2nd car, also a mopar, a 75 Plymouth Valiant, dubbed the "VALIUM" or "BERNINA" cause it sounded like a sewing machine!

How about Sapphire Bomb. I agree, keep it simple if it's even necessary.
