  4. I was aiming for early '60s vibe.. (heavy influence by Monogram's Big Deuce which I first built in the summer of '64)

    White pearl naugahyde..

This '56 I bought is an original "Thunderbird Green" car per the Data Plate w/ white and green interior. It had a worn out white seat cover and needed to be refreshed.

I replaced the seat foam, cleaned and painted the seat frame and springs, and new upholstery was installed, along with seat belts. New carpet and it is much improved and pretty much period correct. I did elect to run a non stock steering wheel, and I like the way it turned out. It is a Petri banjo wheel as found on some 50's European cars.

I don't have any pictures of my interior but i am building like i think a high school kid could have afforded to it in the 60s. (mainly because I sunk all my cash in buying the car and getting it on the road!) I guess it includes alot of stuff that buy be considered "rat rod" but what would a kid with no money do in the 60's? Yes, I run a beer tap shifter knob and a few of my interior parts are just rattle canned throw aways but it is mine and what I can afford to do at this time.

I like that combo on the door panel. Seems like the bottom carpeted part would protect that area much more so then vinyl would in terms of getting dirty, etc.

These are some very, very nice interiors. I like tuck and roll pleated. I think it looks best with red and white....or in Hotrod32's case...black and white looks good also. I think it really depends on the outside color too.

Already got the interior planned before I even have the cars. Bomber seats in the Deuce coupe with lap belts ( Seen my mom go through a windshield when I was 5 so every car must have at least lapbelts) and a nice tuck and roll in the 50 merc.
