Hi, I've been told that before I get going here I should say 'Hi' to everyone. I'm a college student from Saskatoon, SK, Canada. I have a 1926 T roadster pickup, which unfortuneately I only get to work on when I make it back home. Although, it's a sort of father/son project, so dad kicks in a lot of work while I'm gone. While I'm at school, I have formula SAE to keep me busy (don't wory, I have hit that car with 60's styling). As for my dad, he just finished up his Kookie T tribute this past summer..... pictures of both cars below:
more pics...... sorry to say we haven't taken many buildup pics of mine, and I only have these others in digital form.... my dad's car however, has a nearly infinite amount of pictures, being a newborn baby and all .
Hoser eh? That term went around my high school way back in the 1960's...everyone was called a "hoser"...wonder how and where it actually started... Uhmmm, got off trak...this is a Canadian intro...from a Hoser...the "vehicles" look good...the bucket looks like it's damn close to dead on... Didn't Doug and ?? do a song about Hoser's? FWIW, welcome to the House of HAMB...from a Midwesterner! R-
Thanks for the replies, guys. I went with the name 'Hoser' because that's what's on my pinstriping box (still pretty shakey). It got there during the Formula SAE competition in Detroit.... a modified Hoosier raging tire sticker.... but I guess it fits. Yeah, it is very close from all the old magazines we have seen.... some differences though: Olds instead of Cad engine, Lynn quickchange instead of ford axle, the box is scratch built as opposed to ford, and it runs Buick drums all around. Those are the "major" ones anyways.
Welcome, For you guys that don't know about Formula SAE, it's a great program that gives college kids the ability to design, build and run a race car. I've supplied fuel pumps to several of the for a few years now so I'm on their mailing lists. From what I see it's a great program that creats a lot of young and talented gearheads.
Welcome from Wisconsin! You have a great start on you truck too. Post more pics of your Dads car too when you get time!
Welcome! Like the pickup! I'm building up a closed cab! Good luck with the Formula SAE, great program!
welcome, lots of great info here and just cool people all around . that is a real nice truck! i'm trying to round up parts to start one similar to yours. good luck with the build up!
"bob & doug McKenzie" aka Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas. you might have heard their version of the 12 days of christmas...on the first day of christmas, my true love gave to me...a beer...in a tree.
plans for the pickup, as you can see, are full fendered (seems fairly uncommon, at least in the last couple decades), the interior will be traditional tuck n' roll, like the t bucket, but probably plain side panels. Although, I have been thinking of maybe incorporating some white into the interior, since I'd also like a white pleated bed cover, and white firewall. Paint will probably be semi-gloss black, I think we'll dump a bit of red in there to tint it, and then some red highlights here and there, matching the wheels, and some pinstriping. Body mods: chopped 32 shell, bed (rare early 26) shortened 10", shaved cowl, capped the rear sides of the cab. For the engine, this was started as a super-econo ride, so it will run a 4 banger to start with, and we are tossing ideas around for what could replace that if (WHEN) I get tired of being slow, although we don't want to tunnel the firewall. And, I am gradually learning to pinstripe, so it will feature some of that once I get good enough. and, More T-bucket pics:
