  1. Tax man has been very good to us this year. So I am going to pop for a new set of tires for the roadster. Tell me what you think. Wide whites or blackwalls.

Whitewalls may be old news in California, but it's still a damn good looking combination and should really make that roadster pop.

Maybe instead of tires, you could afford fenders for that old car, now.:D

  8. I think the car looks fine just the way it is.....but, you ask for opinions.......
I'm more of a kustom guy myself and I love wide-whites.......so, I'll vote for the whites........ but it's really up to you and your tastes.....

Nice car. As long as you go with bias tires it will look great either way. I am partial to wide wides.

  10. If you consider that Roadster a "Hot Rod" there's only one choice. Black Bias-Plys !..........JW.

  11. I agree guys. Whitewalls or black, but DEFINITELY bias plies. Those rear tyres look way too short for that car.

Get some TALL and SKINNY tyres for that sucker and it'll be spot on. :)

Blackwalls would be cool, wide whites are a little to fancy for a hot rod, I think they are more of a custom thing.

Black bias plies will make that car scream "HOT ROD" even louder.

For my money, nothing beats wide whites.

    Wear out your current tires...

When its time to swap, go with the WWW... If you dont like the look, roast em and go back to black walls!

  24. I respectfully disagree. Bias ply tires drive like shit compared to radials. If you like to go fast on less than perfect pavement and your family rides with you get the radials. If you're just profiling around at 55 mph and your car weighs under 1600#, I guess the bias are OK, but I've had both and I'd never go back again. Drive them both and make up your own mind. I will say that if it's excitement your looking for, there's nothing like hitting a groove in the highway at 100 mph and having the car dart around on bias plys. I'd sure give you a lot of room at that speed if you run 'em. I wouldn't go hot into a curve next to a car on rags.

    Your mileage may vary.

If you're stickin' with the black and red color scheme, it's definitely whitewalls!!

  26. I would stick with the blackwalls. Your roadster looks great.

For an older style, go with Blackwalls. But the car has, except the flat black paint, a maybe more "flashy" look and I think that White Walls would make the car look really smooth. Radials are totally out of here ! Only bias will work ! Just be sure to buy high quality, like Firestone or B.F. Goodrich and similar. No cheap brands. Then you'll be sorry 100 yards from your garage, ha ha...

I think the car is slick only thing missin' is the wide whites.if ya don't like it you could always change back to black.sometimes change is good.I think in a sea of hot rods (car shows, cruise in's ect/)that the white walls will draw thier eyes to it instead of glancing over it as people walk by.
