Hello, I am new here so if I mess this post up please forgive me.

I just bought a SBC 350 bored .030 over and releived for a stroker crank. I have looked a several sites trying to identify this block as what year it is and have not come up with a match to any numbers I have from the block.

Casting numbers: GM 5.7 LG 14020038 The two 0's could be something else in that the casting is extremely poor and not ledgible at all.

    Engine Pad: V0120FBM Th1717403

Any help with my problem will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Steve

  2. Go to www.mortec.com

Look for chebby block casting numbers and then look for your number.

OK now you got info from me its your turn, an introduction although no longer required is considered good etiquette. IE where you are comming from old rods, souped muscle cars etc. You should probably avoid the R__Rod term as most of us find it a little offensive.

Yea I got nothing with that casting number.... is that the number on the top of the bellhousing behind the head? should be on the driver side. The pad numbers are not always correct and are unrealiable!!!

Take a pic of the casting numbers if you can and we'll help you out!!
