So ive just picked up a 1959 ford for extremely cheap. It was one of those cars that you see and just have to have. I have no room for it, and i didnt really want to spend any money on any more cars till my 53 is done......but i had to have this car. It comes complete with a running six, a busted 3 spd ****** and a god awful yellow and black paint scheme. Sorry for the **** quality pics, my good camera p***ed away. If anybody else has one, lets see it!
Cool cars if you can find one with little rust on it. I see that with a 428 and a top loader 4-speed in it. The yellow has got to go! Have fun with it. Bob
Something about the '59 that is beautiful. Not because I own a '59 Skyliner, bucause they really do live up to the ads that say "The world's most beautifully proportioned cars" I am installing a '63 Ford 3 duece setup on my Skyliner's 352. I pulled it out of a field almost 3 years ago after 10 years of begging to buy it. The only rust on the entire car was a spot about 3"x3" at the bottom of the left fender. Top works well, all I haven't fixed is the clock and record player yet.
she runs great but it doesnt go into 2nd gear. the syncro is completely sheared, gotta find a ****** for it
Never thought of 59 Fords until I got one. It's been great. Canadian built? Is it a six with dual exhausts?
all the cars i ever brought into the states that were canadian built had some type of data plate stating it. these cars are so easy to update with sbf/auto, if you decide to pm me and i'll give you the details of ultra cheap motor mount (less than $50). cool 59'!
its got a six in it and so do all my cars so im thinking of throwing some speed parts at it if i can find some. i appreciate it tho!
has anyone else done anything with these old 6's? also i need a transmission for it, any info on what fits or what it would be called would be great.
I am using a overdrive from a 54 ford in mine. some mods to the ****** mount nothing serious. Different ****** yoke and different spline on the clutch disc.
