You know, many one-off parts were cast in aluminum back in the 40s-50s-early 60s in Jr. High & High School Metal Shop Cl***es all around the country. Once looked at a homebuilt miniature Studebaker Hawk based on a early 50s Crosley that had finned engine side covers, finned cam cover and dual 1-bbl intake manifold made by the owner/builder's son in school shop. Nice stuff can be done too!
I've come close, I have made patterns and had them cast at a local foundry. I didn't want to splash hot molten aluminum all over my self.
