Does anyone know what happened with that project...Did he make his goal of $10K or less? Anyone have a pic of the finished product? I would love to hear more about it...I gave up on R&C a couple of years ago, but I picked up the last few issues and I think I am going to subscribe again...whatever, that lead me to their website, where I found the first 5 installments of the articles, but NO more....

    Fill me in,
    Mike

Seems like someone here said that the guy doing the build left R&C, so the project went with him.

Yeah Jim Rizzo is now at Cl***ic Trucks, but I thought maybe he finished the project before he left... oh well...

I thought I saw on it American Hot Rod (hey, nothing else was on) when they made the trip to Louisville.

    Nice ride and very inspiring.

Hated to see him leave R&C but Cl***ic Truck is an excellent mag too.

  5. Rizzo finished the project enough to drive it to Loiusville with Boyde and his crew. I don't think he got the Olds mill in it but I'm pretty sure he hit his target price or pretty close to it. He said he ran out of time, but I was watching the build up of the mill and I'm pretty sure it had more to do with cash than time.
I'll see if I can find a pic of it in an old issue of R&C.

So I guess that means the car is in the back of the R&C shop covered in dust? Or did someone else adopt it?

The truck went with him. It belongs to him. He was just chronicling the build up through the magazine.

About a month ago he was trying to sell it on ebay. I'm not sure if it went to a new home or not though.

Rizzo has already worked Cl***ic Truck's and Custom Rodder. He was alway's a A+ writer/photog. JimA, do you feel there is a large enough market to publish a monthly magazine that's 'core' is mirrored of this web site?

I just read in the new Custom Rodder that Rob went to work for some train magazine because they have 7-foot wheels. Is that true?

Tons of speculation, but hardly a bit of fact.

A monthly HAMB magazine? Not my place to say. I don't think Ryan would buy into it (it would be hard to maintain the integrity he works so hard on without bowing to coorporate presures). It's like TRJ, it's so hard to get it that good, it's almost not worth the aggravation.

The HAMB is best being the HAMB- not some dopey TV show or watered down magazine. Viva la HAMB.

He was the Autoweek quoted Coddington spokesman immediately after the great raid at Coddington's (late Oct/early Nov) http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=101166

That would be cool. I think the PC format would be a natural. We all have a computer, right? What the heck would you do? Have a choice of cars to hot rod, build, cruise, and race???

F.Y.I., I traded my Model A closed cab truck to Jim for the Budget Beater while it was on E-Bay, had it ever since, tighten it up and detailed it a little, it's a *****inn reliable ride but now I have it for sale, time for a closed car again, see post; under For Sale; 1927 roadster pick up from S&S garage

I think a super hero "HAMBMAN" going around zapping Gold Chainers into traditionalists with a Billet joystick starring "Muttley" would be a hit. LOL

Rizzo is at Street Rodder. He has been doing a build up on a 32 rpu with an inline 6. The first article was on scratch building the frame. That was in September '06 page 98.
