Hey guys I am building a 1936 chevy pickup, I would like to run a ford drop axle but I would like to maintain the chevy 6x5.5 bolt pattern so that I can run the spoke wheels I have. What are my options? I know I've seen ford drop axles for chevy spindles but arent those for car spindles which are not 6x5.5? Any input appreciated. thanks
I had aMullin's trailer. It had Chevy 6 lug hubs. 40 Ford hubs interchanged perfectly. You should be able to put the Ford hubs on the Chevy spindles. I don't know where the brakes will end up.
Chevrolet pickup hubs and drums from 55/56/57 or so fit the Chevy spindles. The Chevrolet truck hubs/drums are the 6 lug pattern you want. SO get a dropped axle for Chevrolet spindles, get the brakes off a 55/56/57 Chevrolet 3100 pickup and you should be GOLDEN
duece roadster, thats what I was hoping. If I understand correctly I get a ford drop axle for chevy spindles and use chevy passenger car spindles for a 49-54, then put chevy pickup 55-59 hubs and brakes on those spindles. I have a complete 1959 chevy pickup axle out to drums I should be able to use these hubs and drums. Thanks for any input
