Im building my roll cage in my 32 ford fibergl*** 3 window. The way we decided to buil the cage was mount it on plates that are then bolted to the frame, sandwiching the the fibergl*** body. My question is when I get around to finish welding it, what would you guys suggest since the plates are on the fibergl*** how am I going to absorb/deter the heat from burningn the gl***? Any ideas?

If you can tack the various elements of the cage together and then break it down to the point where you can weld the stuff that is against the gl*** outside the car (or at least far enough away from the mounting area that the heat is not a problem) you should be OK. If the cage fits tight against the roof rails etc get some of the reflective fire proof cloth like the stuff that the old firesuits were made from or use foil backed with some sort of insulation.

ps It would probably be worth waiting a little more than 30 minutes before bumping your thread
