Old guy fooling with cars and the scars to prove it. Dad always said if you don't bleed you didn't do it right. Still bleeding. Old enough when I get on on a creeper I go to sleep. I live in Help Paso, TX. the town the rest of Texas doesn't claim. Not much to tell about me, just a guy that lucked out loving cars. I moved here about 4 years ago from Phoenix, yes I know dumb. But my folks live here and I was offered a job I couldn't refuse. I work for a guy that has 45 cars including The McMullen Roadster and The Calori Coupe. I usually take the cars out for a drive around the block (big block) about once a month, my favorite part especially The McMullen. I am working on 3 cars 55 Chev full build, 32 Vicky full build, and just finished redoing a 32 3 window built several years ago. I don't have anything on the road although I work every weekend on my car. I won't mention much about it as it might not be HAMB friendly as it is a not as traditional as most of the cars here. Hope you guys and gals will have me on the board. Thanx for listening. RON
Ron, welcome to the H.A.M.B. from Arkansas City, KS. Not a bad job being around those kind of cars, especially the Calori Coupe..........one of my all-time favorites! firstnomad www.angelfire.com/jazz/flatlandstudio
Thanx everyone 1stgrumpy - Phoenix has changed alot in the last 15 years, but here is still nothing like an Arizona sunrise firsttnomad - Yep thats a favorite of mine too, just can't drive it too far ....no fan
I can relate to going to sleep on the creeper, though my creeper is usually a big piece of a cardboard box. Got a nice creeper hanging on the shop wall, but as I've gotten a little less skinny over the years, the cardboard works better as it gives me a couple more inches of clearance when I'm working under a vehicle. Welcome to the HAMB. Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford send friendly horn honks.
Welcome aboard Ron. I don't have a problem going to sleep on the creeper, just getting back up off of it when I'm finished. I've thought about ordering one of those "help, I've fallen and I can't get up" things. Hope you enjoy your time on the board.
Hey Ron! Glad to see you finally joined and intro. It's always a pleasure running into you at the different events and having an opportunity to chat. By chance are you going to the HAMB Drags next weekend in Joplin, MO OR that large Kustom event in Long Beach, CA at the end of Sept?? Looking forward to seeing you again real soon and catching up.
Well it's about freaking time! You know you can call me if you need help driving the McMullen roadster!
Well Son of a gun.......I'm gonna go check if there is a "Blue Moon" out!!!!!......."ol Ron" has finally gone from "Lurker to joining" our little group!!! A little insite about Ron, some folks are "car builders" and then some are "car Artists"....that's where Ron fits in.....has been building way over the top cars since I first ran across him at the West Texas Run back in the early 70's. No bragging, just a little "shucks its just a little something I've been working on".....haha....perfectionest, his patience and attention to detail "drives me crazy"....yea, "just a little something he's been working on". A Good Guy and a good addition to the HAMB Family......Welcome aboard Ron!!!!
I knew Tom McMullen well !!! I got to drive his orginal roadster once back in the 60's when he brought it back to Ohio with him. I would love to see some picture's of it now that it's restored. Tom used to come back to Toledo Ohio to visit his mom and we would get together. I almost bought it in 1971 for $5000 ... But he sold it before I could get all the money. I'm still sick over that lol. Dodge34@webtv.net Cecil
I also have a couple vhs tapes of tv shows it was in .... The Life of Riley 1956 when Don Hudson still owned it.And a L***ie episode when Tom owned it.Do you have any video of it now ? Thank's Cecil in Dayton Ohio
