I'm thinking about the chrome yellow for my 65 truck. Thanks for all the ideas. I think I'm almost there. I'll do a white stripe down the middle of the hood and blend it to the whole top of the cab from the windows up.

Years ago I painted a Moto Guzzi a bright yellow. I don't remember who the paint manufacturer was, but the color was "New York Taxi Chrome Yellow". It was extremely "yellow".

  5. I like different shades of yellow for different things, but if you're trying to be period correct on an older project, Panama Yellow from the 1958 Corvette palette was a pretty nice color.

I'm a big fan of yellow.

May not be hot rod yellow, but for one year (93) Allantes came in a pearl yellow called Pearl Flax. I believe only 88 were made in that color.

Pics don't do it justice but...

It's stunning in real life, especially in the sun.

Don't have a picture but, maybe I can scan one in the days ahead. I had two S10's painted 1977 Peugeot "taxi yellow" ....years ago i could tell you the paint code as well. I've always thought it was the perfect yellow, it wasn't too light, too dark, or too orange. In comparison to say "corvette yellow" it was a little darker, real close to "chrome yellow".

  8. I'm surprised nobody has brought up John Milner's piss yellow 32 coupe.:D

BTW,,the actual color of the car is Canary Yellow lacquer.HRP

I should have ordered my car with Ford's Screaming Yellow paint instead of Torch Red... I've seen a couple with that yellow and black Shelby stripes on them.. They looked awsome...

lemon twist yellow from chrysler is also a nice yellow its kinda creamy but bold at the same time

    im partial to sunfire yellow

daytona yellow from 1970 chevy was a bright color (maybe the same as corvette yellow)

Go to the paint store and get the chip book(s). Look in the fleet/school bus section and you'll have more yellows than you can shake a stick at. If you can't find what your looking for there it doesn't exist.

My old coupe. I loved the power, and I grew to hate the color.

Sorry, don't recall the code off hand, but its the 69 Corvette yellow.
Not sure if this is as "yellow" as the early 70's Merc Capri yellow is. They're really close.
