    Thats really cool.

I love your 38, Ryan. That car is as gangster as it gets.... You should keep a loaded Thompson in the backseat, just for good measure.

    Some people hate attention........
From my experience... the true givers in this world fall into this category.
Its great to occasionally see some deserving people get the recognition and thanks they truly deserve.
Whether you like it or not guys!
You deserve more...... the way I see it. PJ

I was working on my car yesterday and didn't read the paper. Today I saw the article and was amazed. I have a story about Kevin if you guys want to hear it.

A few weeks ago there was this ics/sleet storm in KC, the roads were deserted, just me walking my mail route on 70th and Oak. I heard this runbling and I looked up into the sleet and saw a dude driving his ol roadster up Oak in this weather. His car was flat black without a windshield, fenders or a top. He was bundled up with a scarf and a stocking hat. As he p***ed me I went onto Oak and give him one hell of a thunbs up, but he didn't see me. The rest of the week that was all I could think about. That guy had to be the coolest guy in KC. I told people on my mail route and several other people but no one knew anything about the car or it's owner. Until today, now the mystery has been solved.

Had I known who was driving that rod I would have bowed to the king! Kevin you are the Man!

    Respectively,
    G***erNorm

That is AWESOME!!! He was actually headed to my house on 73rd and Oak on a dare... I've never laughed harder when I heard him come around the corner from my office...

    Ryan,
He's became a legend of sorts for driving that car in the sleet. The car guys that I know all think it was the coolest thing they have heard. I have a bud who lives on 70 ter with a blue '57 chevy 4 door. His name's Roberto, stop him if you see him.

I've seen your '38 before, usually I just stop delivering mail and watch as your car goes by. If you see a gawking mailman slobering at your car, good chance it's me. My route goes from Oak to Main and 70 ter to Winthrope.

ps, come later this year look for a flat black '55 in the postal parking lot. that's OutlawBetsey.

Tom was pretty cool. He hung out with us and had a good story about a car he and his brother built when they were kids. Wierd little Crosley based modified rail job thing that disappeared into the void...said he remembered snapping a picture or two with his Brownie but lost them long ago.

The drive to Ryan's wasn't all that bad. Mid 20's but I was never cold - all of that weenie looking cycling gear is WARM - but the sleet catching me above and below my gl***es is what hurt. Lunch was good that day - the Cochrans picked up the tab.

I've still been testing and tuning down the street. The car is up on stands again working through some problems. A friend came over to shoot some video and there was a minor episode caught on tape. I survived but it was pretty hairy. I don't think I'll take it out again without adding shocks and double checking the balance of the front wheels...and I suppose I should go ahead and wire the lights and make everything official too.
