    Hello
I am finally (after 10 years ) finishing my 35 3 windows with a 354 Hemi and 700 R 4 trans. Trans has been rebuilt many years ago, but never used. If I shift manually the gears, trans works ok. But if I let in drive range, the cars starts in second and shifts to third immediately. Tried adjusting the TV cable, but nothing changed. Lock up of converter is not attached.
ANy idea? This is the only thing that prevents me from driving the car.
    Thank you for the help

Pull the pan and see if the TV plunger moves freely, then evaluate your TV parts and make sure you have the proper pull length and geometry. Those symptoms sound like too much line pressure. DON'T drive it yet or you will burn it up.

Go with "themoose"... bowtie overdrives makes the foolproof set up.

Check the governer pressure. Throttle pressure keeps from up shifting Governer pressure forces the shift.
