It's "all Out" during qualifying to determine a closely knit group, (bracket) Then you better not break out for sand baggin.Take Bucksnort's advice. When Rich even flinches to drop his arms, NAIL IT. It is always on camera and you can go to a instant reply to uphold your great reaction time!! Hey if nothing else, you'll get more air time.

Don, you already know what to do.

Just remember it's not really a drag race. You're participating in the filming of a TV show. Drag race rules don't always apply. Nothing wrong with that as long as you know it up front. It's entertainment, and you got that part covered.

    Good luck, and have fun.

hey Don, great meeting you and BSing at Marion a couple of weeks ago.

We we're hired for entertainment at an All OUt at Maple Grove a couple of years ago. Made the TV very shortly, about 15 seconds with the killer burnouts that our driver does.

I tell you what, I never seen a more enthusiastic crowd at MG. And the most people except for the Big Show.

They run a super organized event and it moves along right on schedule.

Have fun and show them what real drag racing was all about.

I wish you all the luck in the world. The few folks I know who have participated have gone back for multiple events or can't wait to go again. It's 500+ cars with a serious focus on the show. The event is awesome and something I plan to attend in the near future.

The show itself, once it hits the airways is something completley different. I used to enjoy Pinks-all-out as it appeared to be all about the cars and drivers. The first 20 minutes was awesome as it showed the qualifying rounds and had some very cool car features. Features that would love to have inlcuded cars like the Reaper. This season it's all about drama (real or implied) and Rich. I've seen 2 of the new episodes and it showed none of the qulifications and had no car features. It focused only on the huge egomaniac doing his arm drop. Rich even went as far as to chastise Clay Millican in public. (Multi time IHRA top fuel world champion) Even though the event is great and it has done a great job tom promote the sport the show itself (in my opinion) undermines much of the good being accomplished. But it succeeds in demonstrating how little Rich and the producers really knows about motor sports.

Mr. Moyer, I've seen you run this beast at several different tracks now, and I still get goosebumps every time I see you run(I will literally haul ass from one side of the property to the other to see that front end come off the ground, even if it is just an inch!). Don't worry about the lights-camera-action garbage, drive it like you do any other day... That alone will have them foaming at the mouth if they know what's good for them. Wish you the best of luck, drive it quick, clean, and safe! =)

  24. Don: Your wheelies will probably get you on TV. But like stated earlier, they haven't shown any of the qualifying runs or highlites this season. But do like you always do and hope there are 16 to 32 other cars running close to your times. We'll stop by and say hey! Good luck!!!

Put a good trans cooler and fan on your car. Change fluids and make sure everything is sealed up tight. In case you get to the finals you dont want your trans or converter to give up on you. Take an extra battery, cables and a charger, guess I have watched too many races lost because of these issues. Make sure you give them the Willys! Good luck, long live the gassers!

Yep, Raced with Rich on a couple of occasions doin the "Arm Drop" thang...My advice is to stage up first ! By that I mean put the second light on first as the last one in has very little time to focus on Rich.

You get a little extra time to concentrate on his mannerisms prior to him "Arm Droppin". He is very consistent and rarely varies on his timing.

That will get you several rounds of wins if you are a frequent drag racer...

A few other tidbits....After you go the first couple of rounds....things start going really fast and you won't have any time to cool things down. Be prepared to jump start your car as heat buildup will become an issue and your starter may get slooooow. Have fuel and your air up in the staging lanes as well as a crew of at least a couple of guys you normally go racing with. Make sure all of your fluids are freshly changed. A small tool box and a can of either to get a hot engine started. Main thing is STAY CALM and don't do anything new.
Forget the damn camera's are around and STAY CALM. Just race your lane !!

Other than that.......WFO Bro !! Keep it WFO !!
