"So far,I'm happy with response that you guys and gals have given me.I think that this show, will be a huge success."

well here's a response you may not be happy with.

Mel has one of the best spots in NJ to hold a car show ( Raceway Park ) and you on the other hand, want to hold a show at the Kenilworth Inn next to the GSParkway on Memorial Day Weekend. now for those who don't know the GSParkway becomes the GSParking Lot on that weekend, you see that's the main road to head down to the Jersey shore. plus you want to have a cut off date and a pin up girl contest with a dress code (HA HA) a band or 2 in a hotel parking lot and rooms that cost $100.00 or more (holiday rates) now after we walk around the parking lot a few times, listen to the band, have a drink at the bar what else is there to do in Kenilworth, NJ ? you can't expect people just to stay in the parking lot for days can you? so let's see, they can drive a mile up the road to 5 points and eat some hot dogs, take a drive down rt22 and take in the sights (stores) you could always drive to Newark a few miles away and take in the sights there ( murder capital of NJ )

And just so you know, yes I live a few miles away from Kenilworth,NJ
I do wish you the best of luck with your show, I just hope you do your homework and line up all of your ducks in a row.
    like I said GOOD LUCK

WOW. Well Wayne, if Joes show dosent interest you, dont go, no need to bash it, he's tryin to do something good. Alot of people attended the Road Agents show in CT. what was there to do besides walk around the show, look at cars and listen to music??, people went for the love of cars, not mainly for extracalicular activities. When the show was over for the day we would go back to the hotel and hang in the parking lot, get drunk and bullshit, why would that be any different here??? You talk about a cut off date, PLEASE explain the problem with that????? Mels show at Raceway has a cut off date, the Road Agents show had a cut off date, just about ANY show advertised on this site has a cutoff date. Furthermore what makes Raceway Park ONE OF THE BEST places to hold a show in NJ?????

    Guys and Gals,

Have an update on the show.Went to the hotel this afternoon. They loved the idea, however, they have a wedding booked the same weekend. That will not work.At least,I don't think so.

The one option I did get from them, was a BBQ.That is only if the weather is nice.I wanted to overtake the whole lot,but with another affair going on at the same time, way too much CHAOS!

Here is what I was thinking, maybe going to a Crown Plaza, which isn't too far away and seeing what they have to offer.I think that would be better.Wouldn't you?

    Let me know.Thanks

Why does it have to be in a hotel parking lot? Aren't there parks in NJ? Just asking.

Yes,there are parks in NJ.Hence the the name"Garden State".Check it out,if you are in a hotel parking lot, after a night of partying, would you really wanna drive somewhere?.At least, you can go right to your room.Make sense?

Joe you might wanna check with your local Elks Club or similiar civic organization. A nice field with a pavilion beats a parking lot any day. Also I would be carful on a holiday weekend. Lots of people have family commitments on holidays. Good luck man

Our parks are used for... errr... other activites.

I.E. Drug dealing, drug doing, teen partying, murders, etc.

At least in our area. :D

The Crown seems like a good idea, give it a shot Joe.

    Guys and Gals,

After much procrastinating,I am going to visit the Crowne Plaza in Clark,NJ.Am going to talk to the head guru in charge about holding a show at their establishment.

Haven't ironed out details yet,but was thinking, and it all comes down to price, having the Golden Gup dj,The Razorbacks play on a Saturday night. There will be only 3 awards given out.

Here is what I need. Some volunteers to help out with registration, spectator admission,etc....

Will work out details for anyone who helps me out on this one.Probably more info will be known after Lead East.

    Thanks!

funny how everybody goes to the Deadmans Curve Party and has a great time and it's not in a hotel parking lot.

Can't you guys think outside the box?

did you fail thinking in school?

No richies party isnt in a hotel parking lot its in a corn field, where theres no inside, no bathroom unless u wana go in a plastic box, and you dont have to pay. No doubt about it dead mans curve is one of the most fun partys of the year but its really not that outside the box. cars, music, beer, food, and friends, jus tinsted of there being white lines where you park theres grass.and not for nothing but we dont see you comming up with anything creative eaither.

I'm with ya so far. My only concern from 40streetrod's post is his comment about the traffic. That is a legitimate concern & possibly a deterrant. Maybe the following weekend or a little further inland?
