Brake Drum Puller In North Hollywood?!?

Is there anyone in the North Hollywood area who could lend a hand with a brake drum puller?

I have a rear drum that turns freely but refuses to come off. I've already run the star wheel adjuster all the way in. I'm suspecting a broken spring (or something else) that's keeping a shoe dragging against the drum. I've tried the local parts stores but their pullers only go up to 10".

If someone can help me out I'd really appreciate it!

Ok for that truck ya don't need a hub puller and pulling on the OD of the drum very hard is a sure fire way to ruin the drums. Remove the brake line from the WC unbolt it from the backing plate ,cut the heads off the shoe hold down pins. That should let you get the drum off the axle. Do note that sometimes a build up of rust at the drum center to axle hub is the problem ,check that area out first.

AutoZone only goes up to 10"...

I've already used penetrating oil and the drums turns freely. Actually I can pull it out about 1/4" then it goes no further. If I let go it springs back.

I'll try chopping off the hold down pins and see if that will give me the slack I need - thanks for the tip!

Like I said you will most likely need to un bolt the WC also.
