You may have seen my new ride in another post, it quickly became a discussion of opinions on whether I should cut it up or leave it alone. A surprising amount of people, the majority, think I should leave it...but we(as hotrodders) have an overwhelming urge to modify stuff. I thought it'd make an interesting poll...
I'm usually with the cut-it-up crowd but even I would have a hard time touching it. Just drive it dude. The paint looks so slick it looks like you could swim in it.
toss the fenders, chop and channel it so it looks like all the other chopped channelled fenderless Model A's that have been built in the last 10 years
It looks like you should bring to my house and leave it in the driveway...no chop, and I'm a big fan of chopped coupes
its yours, you know best..but im kinda the type of guy that goes against "what everyone else is doing"..Im not choppin' mine
I'd leave the top alone, pull the fenders and running boards off and store them somewhere safe so they could be reinstalled later if you liked, install bobbed rear fenders and "cycle" style fenders up front that attach to the spindles and run it like that. I'd probably run it with a hood top, too. But I'm weird.
DON'T FUCKING TOUCH IT!!!! Drive it like that for a year or so then trade it for the next one. I know you love swapping cars around so I would definitely leave it.
There are enough chopped and channeled ratty '30 '31 in the world today! I love them too, but why do that to something that is done and gorgeous? Just doesn't make sense. If you were out trying to set records at the lakes or something like that where a chop would be "pure" I could understand, But I've never understood just chopping a car to chop it! Am I the only one that thinks this way? Just curious...
I think that if it was an incomplete rusty project car I'd have no problem cutting it but since it's already done I think that's what would make my stomach turn. Cutting on shiny painted metal.....
I'm with these two and the rest of the "Don't mess with it crowd." However, I've got to say that you changing the wheels was a huge plus. I think a chromed windshield frame would look pretty sharp, too.
I'd say no chop, but bobbed fenders, but seeing as how the paint is nice I'd leave it as is. Looks great.
This does look pretty darn good, though. I still say, no chop... mostly... I think? Hahaha. Chrome that windshield frame, for sure.
It reminds me of "Alchemys" 29 coupe...the one model A I'd kill for and aside from the black paint it's a clone of your car...this means I wouldn't cut the top, remove the fenders or bob the rear fenders. I like it better just the way it is...has a tall-top...er, hotrod look that just flat works.
Ya gota leave that one alone...............nice car i'll swap you a chopped one if you want......... . .
Since you just got it, drive it for a while. If you like it, don't change it. If you don't like it, fix it.
God I'm having a hard time with this one. I'm somewhat of a "chop them all" type, but damn man, thats a good looking coupe the way it is. The photoshop looks pretty wicked though....
I couldn't chop it, it is too nice. Beautiful car!!! Especially if it is Henry Steel... Find a banged up jalopy for the chopping..
leave the fenders and boards, put a hood and hood sides on it and chop the fuck out of it. none of these 1 1/2 or 2 inch chops either. give it four or six inches. fully dressed grandpa rod with a six inch chop? looks beautiful in my mind.
