Event Coverage Goodguys Pleasanton..Anyone Going?

I'm taking the Model A...

 

I am driving my buddies 54 bel air convert up on Friday,will hit Danville tonight.

 

oooh... forgot about the Danville madhouse. no way I'd ever bring a painted car there... too many civillians with no respect for old cars.

 

what's this danville show?

 

im p***ing as is most of the club ,i gotta do a motor swap ......always one thing after another....

Yup, it is....they invest front money, put on a huge show and in return want to make a profit. *******s.......very anti-American....

 

I would like to, but my Trocka doesn't want me to go.. I have to stay home rub wrenches on it this weekend. If I do it will to take me to the Ventura Nationals next weekend....

 

bunch of cars go park at downtown Danville. it's a madhouse of people. the best part is all the 35 year old former hotties with 65 year old guys with gold watches and expensive hair pieces. must be nice to be rich.

it's tonight. not sure when it starts.

 

Where's Pleasanton?

 

Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge anyone for trying to make a profit. It's rapidly becoming a dying art and anyone still trying to run a business, especially in Cali, has my admiration. I don't have the $$$, hope to make it to the CHRR in Oct. But from my experience, Pleasanton is just a little too "glossy" for me any more. It's all good...didn't mean to ruffle any feathers

 

If it werent for my 14 year old son wanting to go, I probably wouldnt be going either.I've never taken a car to the West Coast Nationals.Not really happy about the pre 72 change.Liked it back in the 80's when it was pre 1949 cars only.

 

I still need some parts so I will be going Saturday in the am

 

I recall that evening at Pleasanton when a '48 Plymouth pilot stated NSRA had been in control with their "pre-'48 rods" long enough! It was time the 'later hot rods' got their chance to get in also!

I disagreed, but was caught up in the old world of no-fendered, axled cars with open engines, and all sorts of other Hamb-fisted ideas...

 

just cruised up to Danville, what a cluster F*@#! I turned around and came right back home..

 

as with most big time events, expensive to park & get in. but, Pleasanton has one of the best fairgrounds around. lots to stare at, and lots of vendors with small swap meet. weather supposed to be cool for once. will go Sat as a pedestrian.

 

Had a great day at the show, had brake trouble on the way home..Leaking Right Rear Wheel cylinder! DAMN!

 

going to miss it as I am picking up the '26 roadster from the barn... should be more fun i think.

 

Had a great time, almost missed today because of the Right rear wheel cylinder letting go last night.Cant believe Allied Auto had a cylinder on the shelf for a 40's Ford! Heres Pics
