Thanks for the sharing the old pics. With so many folks on here there must be tons of old pics that would be great to see. Everyone needs a scanner so they can turn some of those prints into digital format to share with the world.

I think that coupe got sold,to Bobby Retundo.I think it's all black now, with red interior,no more flames on it.

I just read your post this morning and it was funny because I was talking with Vito Venuti the other day and he mentioned that Bobby owns the car now.He said the top has been refinished but it still has most of the original striping I put on the frame back around 1977.
Kelsey sold that car to Andy(?),a cop from Newburyport who rarely drove the car.It was then sold to a neighbor of Vito's brother Sonny who was going to re-do it but after a long h***le,the owner of the shop died with the car only partly finished.I guess that's when Bobby finally got it.
It's a great car and not many people realize the body is 'gl***.The fenders were NOS and louvered with 3 rows each, the metal trunk was louvered and the panel below the trunk was a steel item grafted to the body. There are screw on belly pans under the car that have tons of louvers in them.As I remember it there are more than 800 in the car and I double striped most of them!

This my friends is by far one of the best posts.

Growning up in Connecticut, my older brother mentioned some of those names when he took me to the Hartford Autorama in the mid 60's.

I live for this cool **** and I want to thank personally the guys who are posting these great old photos that are ......

    PRICELESS.

Thank you guys - for the history... you made my night !

  6. Make sure you tell him Ray Smith said hello.I haven't seen John since that picture was taken(probably mid-70's).
I'll have to dig into my photo suitcase(where all my unmounted pics are)and see if I can come up with some more.I can't believe this post is still alive!

Man, if those roach clips could talk......................

It amazing how you not only have all of these pictures, but you remeber so much about them and who the cars belonged to.

    Great thread Ray, thank you.

  10. HI JACK! How is the old duffer doing? He still raising hell with the town fathers?Does he still have the machine shop on Hamilton Street(or whatever they call it;it changes names three times along it's length)?
Saugus huh? Haven't been called that since 1961!
I had a couple of pics of Bob Steele's Flintstone Charger when I lettered it but I think that's about it.I haven't dug around in my pictures for awhile now;been kinda busy.
I had a pic of the Speed Sport roadster at Sanford back in 59 or 60 somewhere.Had some pics of Aquasco(Maryland)in the mid 60's when I was stationed in Pax River(Malcolm Durham, the Ramchargers,etc.).
Vito Venuti sent me a video of some New England Dragway stuff(Paul Donahue was racing his alcohol digger)but I'm not sure of the vintage(probably 70's),mostly MSRA get togethers.
Last time I saw Tom I think he was still recovering from hip replacement surgery and I was working on making a gun part. When you see him, tell him I relegated that job to a friend down the street and it's coming along just fine.
    Keep in touch
    Ray

Do you know where I may be able to find Bob Saputo today?

  13. Thank you Ray and everyone else involved with this thread.
It's like returning to high school again, taking a history course, and actually enjoying it!
It's 3:45 in the morning and I'm still grooving to this thread.
This HAMB stuff is the reason for my insomnia I think.
I'd rather read about our New England heritage than go to bed and have nightmares about work related problems that get in the way of a hot rodders social life.

  14. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!A 5-plus year old post comes alive again!I guess people really do research the oldies here.Glad you enjoyed the memories as much as I do.I'll have to see if I can dig up any more pictures to post.

  15. I stopped over to Cousin Vinny's house last Saturday morning to ratchetjaw for a little while.
He told me you and he had been talking on the HAMB.
Vinny was stunned that you remembered him and his '35 sedan delivery.
That sedan delivery is going waaaaay back with you guys.
He reminisced about all those names you guys knew for the longest time.
Your conversation with him made his whole week.

I hope to find more pictures also to throw into the pile soon as I can figure out how to scan stuff.
A fellow at work did my last ones from Orange and NED but he's overwhelmed with projects right now so I'll have to figure it out on my own.

Keep up the good work Ray.

  16. Still making an attempt at loading these again.
I'll try 'till I get it right.
