Closest I can help with is measurements from my 64 Mercury Park Lane convertible. I read somewhere that the door is same as a Galaxie door with a molding bolted to the top outside edge. Anyway, I took measurements from two points which should be the same for you. First was from the top edge of the cutout for door wiring to the door striker. When you add the 3 inches to account for the tape measure, I get 47 1/2 inches between those points. Second measurement was from just below the top hinge over to the door jamb over to the outer edge of the jamb at the other end. I get 48 1/2 inches between those points.
