283 main and rod bearings in minnesota

    anyone know of any parts outfits in the twin cities area that would have a set of rod and main bearings in stock i could get on saturday?

    Most any parts house should be able to have them overnight at worse. Unless they are way undersize that is.

    Most Napa or Car Quest stores can check the inventory of other stores in the system on their computers if that helps any.

    For standard the Seal Power numbers are
    2020CP on the rods

    994M on the mains

    The fit a lot of years and the rods fit a lot more engines besides a 283 so they should be pretty common.

    But you do need to know if you need standard or undersize bearings as the crank may have been turned at some time.

    thanks guys, got my bearings this afternoon, cleaned block out last night and all morning, got the block primed and painted, and got the crank in this evening after i got back home. all main clearances were at .0015
