  1. HAHAHA....somehow I dont think Ill have that problem mate !!

Then again if I dont, does that mean that I aint turning it hard enough or beating on it enough?

Looking great! I've got a nice std bore block, about halfway through the port job. Good to know about the 550g rods clearing. I'd be interested in the cam specs. Tatom knows his stuff. Subscribed, Mr. Bastad!

  4. Hey 35 Hotrod, they clear by a decent margin, keep in minf these are the STD bearing rods, not the 2.00" journal rods.

AFL....as it sits it should be around 7.9:1 CR without the relief. With the relief I'd expect approx 7.6:1 or a tad just over.

Id like to relieve it but have held off for the time being.

  5. Rat, concerning running the Stromberg WW carbs on your blown motor, I saw in another post you had mentioned one of the pros with running these carbs was the mechanical power enrichment system(power valve) ....don't all WWs have the vacuum piston for enrichment??? Won't this give some richness issues at part throttle with a healthy blown motor?...yes it's a loaded question...I was thinking of using the same carbs (3) on a blown GMC inliner...

  6. Just saw your qun Hans....

I cant say for sure but mine seems to run well/hard with the 2x2 set up atm...no leanouts or holding back under load /WOT.....

The engine has now been broken in and runs very well. A few pesky head stud leaks seem to have sealed themselves nicely and she pulls hard but I have'nt really beat on her HARD yet.

In time Im going to be wanting to chuck her on the dyno to see what she will do and dial it in to see what timing/jetting she likes for peak HP/TQ.

Atm....she's down on boost due to a bigger engine with the same pulleys. A pulley change down the track will fix that.

The Tatom cam is lumpy but the cubes/lung have probably tamed it down somewhat.

For those who were wanting to know about the Hard Blok short fill, she still runs at the similar temp she did before the Hard Blok fill.

    Nice to know haha.

Im a happy camper so far - Updates to come.

A credit to 'rat' for the excellent job he did with his motor!
