front or rear? if for the front.. there is a kit by pete and jakes (and avail from speedway) that requires you swap out the spring shackle. and bolt on an upper bracket and shock (in place of the stock shock) the above is a copy of a vintage version of the same.. which I have the upper mounts for.. but dont have the shackles someone else might know an additional method. as for the rear.. this is a not so great photo of a vintage tube shock kit on a 40 ford rear. I dont have a decent photo of the top mount.. but it was a simple bracket coming off the frame.. (that I think was bolted on as well.. ) not sure that this is still avail from anyone.. but I wish it were..
Thanks so much. I have a '40 that was built back in 1971, Pontiac V-8 with a Muncie 4 speed. The builder ran without shocks on the front for a few years. The rear is a '60'sIChevy unit with tube shocks. I guess the weight of the Poncho motor gave some stability (?!?!?). Anyway, it's back on the road after 35+ years......as soon as I add some front shocks!!
Anyone out there happen to know if these types of rear shock mount are still available? Or what is the best and easiest set-up for rear tube shocks on a stock 39 Ford with a banjo rear end ? Thanks, Hot LZ
Bringing this one back to the top since I am looking for options on my '35. I have a '35 Coupe with a '39 Ford rear banjo and wishbones. I ran my brake lines on the wishbones so my option cannot interfere with that. I'd like to find ones like examples above.

Thanks man I just found this and I bet it's the same guy. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=438377&highlight=shock+mount
oh wow i didnt know they repoped those. too bad those are same price as originals. if they were somewhat cheaper that would be rad!
I know i was hoping for $75 and under range but what am I going to do? Welding is not really an option at this point after everything has been painted. I guess I can wait until the very when I'll need them before ordering. I hope they at least come with the longer bolts!
Try finding a set on ebay, then the new ones will look a little better price wise. Plus they are both the same length, and new and on the shelf.
