Never seen that before.. that's a great idea.

Would like to see more details.. should be easy enough to make.

  3. Man, that's slick! Nice fab work, super clean...

I agree with above, should be pretty straightforward to build.

If not I would try a pillowblock and a steering shaft......

I have also seen some '20's straight 8 and 12's with a supercharger or turbo set up the same way.

it cleaned the front of the motor up nice- just had a pulley mounted low with a belt to the crank, radiator was around back and i did not see a water pump on the front of the engine either- just had tubes running to each water jacket to keep the flow going

  7. Awe, that is sick looking, I gotta go look for more pics of that. Please, post up if you got more. I want to see the whole car. They must be running an electric water pump like for a race car to pump the coolent back to the radiator. That'd be my guess.

If it says it is for drag racing they may be using no pump at all. Some of those guys fill their water jackets with filler compound, just needs to run a pass, can cool down in the pits.

that SW pump is for drag racing- this car drives. an average pump pumps 35 gpm from what i found from a quick google and the sw does 55- it says its just an assist but with it pumping more then the regular pump i don't see why it can't be used as a primary pump.

this is all i have. car is very nice but something about it didn't do it for me- i think it was the peened surfaces

A cheap "inline" electric water pump is the VW-Audi Bosch unit [ they sell for about $80-90 ]
The Bosch pump is also used a lot with solar water heaters ,they connect these up to a 12v solar panel and they'll run all day.

To be honest I would not know, I've only seen one used in a solar water heating situation.
The thing was pumping flat out non-stop all day
[ the solar company was selling them for $300 +,but the installer was a friend of mine that enlightened me to the truth, a common ol' VW Audi pump ]

apparently they have a life expectancy of about 10,000 hours [which equals 300,000 miles @ 30 mph average ]

They would be great in a dragster, etc!
about the size of a clenched fist.
You wouldn't need a thermostat at all , just wire it via a temperature controlled switch

PS: as I was writing this I did a quick search of "davies craig" ,they have a bosch pump listed [could be the same ]

I also see them listed on "Fleebay" USA

Audi sells them around 80 bucks retail... i keep one in stock.

BTW; it's probably one of the better bargains of the very VERY few we offer.
