What wheel bearings, races, seals does TCI use for their 37-41 Ford Spindle kits? I'm using the rotors with the Ford (4 1/2") bolt pattern. I Need part numbers for name brand, quality pieces. The folks at TCI weren't very helpful. This import **** ain't gettin' it! Thanks for your ***istance.

Not exactly sure what they used but you should be able to see some etched numbers on your old parts. A good parts counter guy can get you the appropriate bits with those numbers

Apparently, the seals and bearings are TCI specific. The only thing common with the Chevy/ GM rotor is the outside bearing. The inside bearing has a larger race than the Chevy/GM. The numbers on the bearings and seals are of no use to anyone. NAPA and other parts houses are unable to cross reference. Even Detroit Ball Bearing can't cross reference and has nothing relatively close that might work. TCI customer service ****s. They won't tell you anything.

I find it hard to believe that a good bearing warehouse can't find equivalencies.

We have two here, Bearing Belt and Chain http://www.bbcarizona.com/ these guys have a dimensional look up even, and US Bearing http://www.bearings.com/

Here is Bearing Belt and Chain's look up service, http://www.bbcarizona.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=53

    Give that a shot.

The folks over at US Bearing have always given good service for me and my oddball requests. Shame you guys don't have companies like this around.

Whenever I didn't have a number that would cross, my parts man would get out the calipers. Can't you do that? There are only so many wheel bearings made, and I doubt TCI has invested in creating a "new" size.

  7. If all else fails I have the CR Bearing book and can look them up.

  8. Are they OEM rotors? Is there a sleeve on the big end(inside) that the inner bearings sits on, or is it right on the spindle? Measurements should be able to find you bearings.

Persistence pays off. Bearings/seals on the way. Talked to Ed Moss himself. Stand-up guy! Will post P/Ns upon arrival for future reference. While doing routine maintenence for an upcoming road trip I am repacking wheel bearings, I was able to save the grease seals with the proper tool, but thought it would be good to have a spare set of bearings/seals, since hot rodders never have enough parts. My P/Ns are: KMM002 on the outer bearing, L68149 on the inner bearing and 31001 on the grease seal, in case anyone wants to cross some numbers. Let us know what you find out. Hopefully you'll have better luck that I did.

  10. Maybe this will help the next guy as this post helped me find the inner bearing.

I have a TCI drop axle for my 30 Model A.

    Inner Bearing SKF BR13
    Outer Bearing SKF BR2
    Seal SKF 19984

My front end started making some noise, pulled the suspected side apart (drivers) found the outer bearing was deforming, it started looking like an egg, hard to tell and was just enough to start making noise.
