I'm trying to rebuild the brakes on my 57 chevy 210 project and I was able to buy everything prettymuch brakes wise except for the hardware kit.

Does anyone know a part number I could take to Orielys or Autozone In order to buy a new hardware kit for it? I can't believe you can buy the brake shoes and wheel cylinders for it but not the springs and stuff to hold it all together with.

I used to have a package with the part number on it from the last kit I bought for a tri 5 chevy but it seems a mouse decided it wanted to eat the package for lunch while it was in my shed.

Any help would be appreciated I really need a new spring kit for the brakes.

Try ebay, search either brake hardware kit or MUTTON HOLLOW CHEVYS in ebay stores. Done business with them, nice folks. Saw hardware kit on their site. It may net ya the Danchuk part number at the very least.

Any of the Tri-Five vendors will have what you need, though at a higher cost of course. There have to be "other" suppliers out there, but you may need to look for them. When I bought the hold down and spring kit for the 51 Business Coupe, from that auction site we all know and love, the retractor springs would'nt fit well enough without some creative bending. Not sure when they changed to self adjusting but by 63 for sure. I used
the 63 hardware for the self adjusting feature on my 57...

Shaffer's Cl***ic Chevy Parts has them... and they also have self-adjusting brake conversion kits for the '55-'57 rear. If you're rebuilding the brakes, it's a nice addition, for not a ton of extra money. And it'll keep your brakes in better working order for a lot longer--you won't have to manually-adjust the brakes... and more importantly, you won't PUT OFF manually adjusting the brakes every month--hence, better brakes. It's a good upgrade that's worth the money.

Iirc the issue on the front brakes is the slot in the backing plate for the
"star" wheel is positioned toward the front and of course for the self-
adjusters the star wheel must be positioned toward the rear. I believe
I just put a slot in the outer face of the brake drum for access.
At least thats what I'm thinking just off the top of my head...
