I think this is like # 700 for me of watching the thing .....I just can't help it....... OK toad we'll takem all.....................
when they lined up at dawn on paradise road with green onions playing i had to go out and buy a 32 ford. seriously
It played Sunday on the local Fox outlet here so I DVRed it. Hadn't seen it in years, but I've watched it 4 times since Sunday. I'm about done, but I'll watch it again every once in a while. "Green Onions" has been one of my all time favorites since 8th grade, and it's especially cool that it was used in the Milner/Falfa drag sequence. It's really "Boss" man!
they had too many commericals so I will look at it on my vrc have ahd tape for years when I need a pick me up I'll plug it in.Whee what a night Toad rules
i caught the last 15 min as well, just in time for the race on paradise road. I've seen the threads here about that 32 and it's style and stance and craftsmanship and the chopped grille etc, and when seen in isolation I get it, however seeing it on the screen it is the baddest car in the valley man...I love it, and get why people build clones...
Caught all but the first hour of it last night.. haven't watched it in years, but stirs up my 'want' to get a 32 coupe or roadster!
I actually bought my first VCR so i could tape the first TV screening, too many years ago. Owned it on DVD for years, still love it, still get a kick out of watchin' it, even though I know the whole ****** movie word for word. That movie and Hot Rod...two of the best. Day off tomorrow, might get a few beers and watch 'em both again.
DVR`ed it ,got green onions as my ringtone.... The G/F thinks I`m nuts sometimes i will just watch the race outta the blue Cant wait to get my jalopy done
I saw it at the theater 3 times back when it came out and also own the DVD. The flip side of the DVD is the sequel which is also pretty good.
There is some great dragstrip footage in the sequel.. but overall it was a dissappointment...the screenplay's three separate timelines was a bit ambitious..and the hippie anti-war stuff was a bit over the top and had an almost "made for TV" feel to it. One almost gets the sense that they were just rounding the bases for the years they tried to cover. But I do have the expanded DVD release..and the extra features about George Lucas getting the first movie together are worth the price alone. And there may be better '32 coupes out there..but the Milner Coupe is an icon.
I saw a Milner clone blast down the road last night as I was leaving a store. Made me want one. They bore the hell out of me at car shows but flying down the road is something else.
