Just found this yard, I bought alot of cars and parts out of here the other day. I'll give info on whereabouts after I get all my stuff out. I hate to be that way but it is a few miles from my house and don't want anyone stepping on my toes!!! Lots of good stuff, but most cars are rotted on the bottoms, but lots of good parts.

These pics are only a fraction of what I have. I'll post more if this thread is popular!

The Ozarks are full of rusty treasure. The old stuff is getting crushed though. There was a good one in Nevada, Mo; all crushed. An amazing old lot in Goodman, MO went down last summer. The old man died. The next week the son called-in the crusher. The bastard could have made more money if he would have put out a last chance notice.

Hardly any good stuff left here in Michigan....but it's out there. I know where there's a pristine low mileage '40 Ford two-door sedan. Been sittin' an a farm for about 50 yrs. Crazy thing is it's only about 75 ft. from the road. I need to go talk to that old man again.

That car is a 46-48 chevy coupe, I'm getting parts off that one, there are a couple more coupes in there, but none buildable. There are severa Stude pickups, 48-52 ford trucks, lots of 48-53 chev trucks and a panel or 2. lots ans lots of 50's Caddys, and Buicks. Lots of 56 chevys, but those are not for sale???? I bought a 55 ford truck, that runs, a 31 model A pickup, lots of flatheads, and related parts, several 41-48 chevs and buicks, even a 37 chev 4dr. 3 stude pickups, a 64 falcon, 5 48-52 ford trucks, And am working a del for more stuff.

I really wish these guys wouldn't hoard these cars so long that they are only good for parts. I guess maybe if they didn't keep them they might actually be crushed by now. Be sure to let us Missouri guys know the whereabouts when you're out. I'd like to look for a few parts for my truck.

Rusty- What kind of prices are we talking about here. I'd like to pick up a cab for a 48-53 Chevy truck, or maybe a whole truck. I'd like to attempt a chop, just not ballsy enough to try it on my 'good' cab yet.

I think you could take him... ;-)

Rusty, are you working? We're just about out of work, and doesn't look like anything coming up in the near future either.

Tucker, prices are right on, especially for chevys, new owner hates them. I could probably snag a complete cab for $50-100, Maybe even less. Visor, I'm sure you've been there, that place is about as old as you! New owner though, friend of a friend type thing, he is crushing all of it, not open to public, he's just interested in the weight, not $'s, doesn't want a lot of strangers poking around, but if you go politely and not get too pushy on parts and prices you could come out allright. I'm going to start getting my stuff out monday, and should get all I bought out by the end of the week, I hope!! Then who cares, I just don't want anyone trying to sneak off with my cars/ parts. I even got a decent 6:71 blower out of there! BFTWCS nope not working, just hustleing cars and parts. Zman, everone likes a good tease!

There is a bullet nose stude over in this guy's other yard, I'll have to check and see if it can be parted out or buy the whole thing.

A little more about China's voracious appetite for steel..

here's a quote from the article..

"China imported 208 mln metric tons of iron ore last year, up 40.5 pct compared to 2003, while the country's steelmakers only consumed approximately 188 mln tons.

And China's strong demand for iron ore also caused prices on the world market to soar during 2004, CCTV reported."

And here is a trend of the pricing...

  25. Caddy - does the data tell you how much of that steel comes back to the US as products we are buying. That amount is huge.

Junkyards rule!! Too bad they are so many that keep going away. :(

This car is a 47 or 48 Chevy coupe. 46 would have the holes in the hood and down the sides for the 46 trim.

Be sure to save all the trim and chrome stuff from the 46-48 Chevys. That's all good stuff to have or to resell. If you find a grille guard in any shape, I'll buy it. Or if you find a '46 with the bars that stick out from either side of the trunk handle, I'd buy those off of you too.

Good work, save what you can and pass the info onto everyone else before it's all gone.

I need one for a 37-39 International. I would take just about any as long as they are straight. I can bolt my fenders right on. I need to find someone in mid missouri with an english wheel to whip out some patch pannels for the rear fenders. Keith
