On the way to work the other day I saw this 50 on a trailer a few blocks from my house. The next morning it was parked on the street. I did talk to a guy in front of the house and he said the owner was not home but usually was around and stop by. Haven't gotten together with him yet but I do love stumbling across an old non stocker from time to time while wondering around. Looks like about 4" section. Now I am looking forward to meeting the owner and finding out his plans and any history he might know of the car.
Here is Brew City I see nothing but a shit load of cars!!!! And trucks for that matter! Milwaukee has more traffic by the day I swear
More like 5". I wouldn't be surprised if that car had some previous coverage. That SBC in there looks more recent than the 'build', and that's a fairly modern shifter, too. The engine that was in it was probably sectioned too, to clear the hood...
I see a 68 mustang now and then. I also see a 68 camaro now and then. A lot of muscle cars. But on Sundays I see just about everything because I live right near a big meet.
Work? Not one of my destinations, but I did see a hoodless 1946 Ford coupe sitting on aired up tires yesterday. Someone dragged it into the woods and abandoned it in South Mississippi.
I have family in Flint , right by the "APPLEGATE CHEVROLET" dealership , man , that town has went down hill since I was a kid , that really sucks too , I always wanted to move there , work at GM untill I retired , now all I want to do is be somewhere it doesnt snow.....
tell ya what; ME; i'd drive up to that trailer, roll that '50 off and roll my POS Taurus up on it and push the '50 all the way home, hoping they didn't notice the swap..... but hell, i'm nuts anyway. when i GET to work, i see a 58-60 Squarebird rusting to shit next door, and a nice '50 Ford tudor sedan they want too much money for, as well as a Cyclone convertible and a big 60's MoPar sedan amongst a bunch of shit used cars. oh and an ass of penis extensions (Corvettes).
I travel all over the U.S. for work so I see just about everything. The most recent was B.S. to the fulliest. I seen a 1950 ford car 4 door. all glass busted out, pretty heavy surface rust, all chrome peeling not pittted, pilling. all interior rotted off and the seat frames rusted, rear quarter smashed to hell, missing grille, roof dented. No engine or tranny. I ask him how much thinking $150. It did have a good deck lid and all the original steel wheels. He says $3000. I had the WTF face going on. He then said "firm, its an antique, 60 years old they dont make them anymore". Its gone, I had to ask him what happen to it. He said sold it. I just left. YET. Today I found a 1951 Dodge 2dr sedan, flat 6, runs, complete, $200. You just never know.
I drove the same country road to work and back for about 20 years. One day the wind blew down a wood fence behind a house I always passed and I noticed an old red pickup in the back yard. Stopped a day or two later to inquire about it. It was a 49 studebaker with no rust. Been setting back there for about 20 years the guy said. Well we struck up a deal and I took it home. Had all intentions of hotrodding it till I found out it ran and didnt smoke. Ending up selling it to a guy that wanted to restore it to original.
Back when I used to work I spotted these within the city limits of Portland Oregon View attachment HPIM0394.JPG The gal at the house has told me if I ever come back to ask about the cars she is calling the cops. I'm going to call her bluff.
