Ryland, This one is starting to grow on me. Could you do maybe a not so wild chop ( maybe a bit higher) and w/out the scallops. Muchas gromp chaos10meter
Mick! I can't believe you're advocating kustomizing a 1969 automobile? Oh, the pain, THE PAIN!! I just have a suspicion that the car is going to end up looking worse than what he's starting with, and from the photo it looks like what he's starting with is too nice to waste. I will go down fighting that clean original cars are for driving. Cars that need redone anyway are pure custom bait. Am I the only one on this board with a deep love for late 1960s/early 1970s luxury cars? Oh, how I miss my Lincoln. And my Marquis. And my Grandeville. And my LTD. And...
Hey Dave, are ya having a bad day? LOL!! I have a lot of cars within those years I'd love to kustominze. I just wanted to wait long enough so they we be accepted by other car guys. God Bless the NSRA now I can get to work on one.... Ha, ha, ha,. Happy Trails, Mick
Hey 3spd....I don't mean to hi-jack chaos10's thread, but I didn't want to start another. Could you photoshop the same chop on this '79 Lincoln? Not a HAMB friendly car, but I'd like to see it chopped just the same. Thanks! -Matt
I can't believe how cool this is....is there a way to change the color to black, and shave the doorhandles? Thanks again! -Matt
Here are some more ideas, slight section job (around the belt) and tucked the bumpers and some other stuff.... My art soft ware at the office is not change color friendly... sorry Good luck Happy Trails, Mick
How much less of a chop? I assume more than what the others did. Here is a real quick one with slightly less chop and not quite as low. Do want less chop that this: Ryland
Thanks, Stu!...I have some pics of that same car in all white. Quite an interesting kustom. I think I like it better white, tho. -Matt
Mick, you are KILLING me here!! Repeat after me: if it was manufactured after 1960 it is not a '50s car. I am just not ready to live in a world where 1969 cars are running around with wide whitewalls. Unless...it's a pimp-mobile! Now THAT would be kool! There was a pimp in Akron, Ohio in the early 1980s who had a beautiful golden candy brown metalflake mid-1970s Ford LTD with a Rolls Royce grille grafted on, truspoke wire wheels, and wide whitewall tires. That was a car, buddy! (And the grille wasn't just bolted on - this was a professionally done full-on custom job with beautiful workmanship. I loved that car, and I could be wrong but I swear I remember that the interior matched his full-length fur coat.) Seriously, though, why would anyone build a 1969 or 1970 car in a 1950s build style?? That'd be like trying to play rockabilly on an Ibanez Iceman guitar. It's just wrong. Cats are cats, dogs are dogs, and big boat luxury cars are not '49 Mercuries. What is the world coming to?
Its a Lincoln., I'm sorry Dave, my bad I thought that it was a Mercury. Ha, ha, ha I'm just mad that I'm not going to the Greasaroma.... Today would be a good day to be on the road.. Happy Trails, Mick
Hey 3spd! Wondering if you could photoshop the Lincoln above, putting it on Astro Supremes!?!? Thank you again, sir!! -Matt
