any idea what kind of wheels these are ?? They were on a 68 Ranchero, but we almost think they might be Mopar. The center cap dont appear to be original to the wheels. Are they factory mags? year? they are 14"
Any Ford wheel in that style that I have seen at a swap, have a Ford logo There was a recent thread, most of the guys here called them Magnum 500 EDIT; what I meant was that the rim has a small ford logo stamped into it somewhere. I did not mean the hubcap
Ford, Mopar, and AMC all used this same wheel at one time or another. Some were all chromed, some were two tone painted with trim rings, and some had chrome/black centers with trim rings. The Ford ones used a shallower center cap, the Mopar ones used a tall center cap with kind-of a bulls-eye in the center, the AMC ones used the Mopar center cap but with an insert that said American Motors.
Chrysler had Magnums and Ford had Magnums, the center caps are expensive and removable, those look a lot like Chryslers with the red cap and trim ring, I may be incorrect.
Centers look like they are from a Granada/Monarch. The wheels are probably from an early 70's Ford or even an AMC as the center section is chromed with trim rings. Granada/Monarch wheels would be Argent with rings. Full chrome Magnums would be 60's and early 70's. As mentioned Ford ones will have a Ford logo stamped on the rim somewhere.
Chevy and Pontiac had those also.... Chevy called thier's SS wheels instead of what the really were.... Magnum 500's... The big 4 all used those back in the day... Here's one on a '68-'69 Dodge Charger....
