Young Hooligan...

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by Cobrawannabe, Sep 4, 2010.

  1. Hi, everyone! I'm a bit nervous joining since I don't currently have a hot rod, but believe you me, I love 'em! While I will hopefully be buying a car that's a bit late for everyone's tastes on here, I still hope to make it cool. Well, to make things a bit less tense, here's my current side project, and something I can't wait to jump into.

Oh, and my bio, according to the profile I just filled out...

It all started at the age of four with my first car show. While my Dad has never been much of a gearhead (he is past those days), we found car shows to be a fun common interest. He was sure to expose me to both modern cars and the historical hot rods and muscle cars of his glory days. While he spoke fondly of both, I took to the cars that started it all, back in Vic's days. I have p***ion for all things Flathead, Stomberg, Holley, Offenhauser, Isky, Mallory, etc. Purists truly and sincerely bother me, though I dislike modern engine swaps. While I am currently a poor college student and am having a tough time affording the car I have finally found as my hot rod ('69 Maverick); I find time to work on friend's projects on the weekends. My favorite hobby is rebuilding and restoring cl***ic Holley 2bbls, and hope some day to run an Offy intake with three of them strapped to it on top of a 352. What a cool combo! Oh, and I hate automatic transmissions!

I'm just a FNG (Lmao) but to me and others on here, hot rodding is taking what you got to work with and making it a lil cooler , or faster , or whatever and less about fitting in to a mold . Fact is some are leaders and the rest follow....So welcome to the hamb and when you get it , shoot me some pics of the mav.

  4. Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! No pics of the Mav as of yet, though the Focus is well do***ented:D I'll get pics of the "Mini-Mustang" next time I swing by the guy's shop.

Does anyone consider one parts supplier for these Holleys to be the best, or are all the major providers pretty good?
