Such nice work. THere's definitely a way to get your car down without resorting to bags and you've shown this nicely. I'm loving this car!

    Thanks,

My 46 doesn't have the original engine or trans, pedals, I just wondered if you used a hydraulic setup.

i think your rear wheel needs to come forward an inch or so. just drill another hole on your rear end perches behind the center one.

Lookin' good "kid". Car sits real nice and still looks like a car, I'm not a fan of "layin' frame" or bags. Nice work, can't wait to see the body mods.

  18. Personally I think that is great choice for a dash and it will compliment the car. However, with out being there to see what is actually happen, I think I would plan on removing any metal nessecary to make the dash narrower from the middle and leave the gauge and glove box areas alone. Keep us posted.

Where are you gonna take the 11" from- the ends? You do want to try to keep the center of the dash, right? Before you start cutting, we could do a little Photoshop from your pictures to give you some ideas. If you could tell me exactly what gauges you are thinking about, we could drop 'em in.

Here's a very quick ps of it narrowed what I estimate to be 11" taken from the middle and in each side. It loses a little of it's gracefulness I think, but still cool.

Agreed, it really does still look great, and like you said, kinda early 'vette. That's a really nice dash, no matter how you slice it.:D

OK, here's one just to give you an idea of how the Chev gauges might look. I don't know what you were planning on keeping as far as the original stuff on the left, so I just set them in. Also, no idea if you were going to keep the speaker mesh on the right or fill it in- I just filled the whole joint in, we can go from here. I tried to keep the Chev gauges as close to scale as I thought they would be, but without actual measurements, that's really tough (and might be tough even with them). Oh yeah, tried to approximate the amount you wanted taken out of the width of the dash as best I could.

Great thread, I would love to see how the fenders turn out. I have a 53 150 that I plan on chopping hopefully by the end of the month! Thanks for the detailed details!!
