Hello, I'm looking for a shop that can nickel plate some things for me. A cycle frame and some other goodies. For this project quality is more important to me than price. Can anybody recommend a really good plater in the North Texas or D/FW area? Thanks
P.M. B*** on here, I spoke to him in Tacoma on his road trip of a lifetime and he mentioned he knew of good chrome shop back in Texas.
I need to know too. Ramos in OkC may be going out of biz when they take over downtown OkC (Imminent domain)
Morales plating in Terrell tx. They're very reasonable, and spent a lot of time on some pot metal pieces I thought were unsavable. (972)524-3966
Hand Off is good, but slow. And they only plate one day a week. Kind expensive for the quality... Economy is exactly that. Cheap....you get what you pay for. Same with Pulito's...take them nice stuff and it will turn out ok. Take them junk, and you'll have chromed junk. Other places will do better jobs on "seasoned" parts.
Just sent my wifes mercury parts off to Quality Chrome Mr Peebles said it would be 3 to 4 weeks out. Used them due to US does not copper plate.
+1 on Morales Plating in Terrell. Had some parts done by them, they had forgotten about a dozen small pieces, and he personally brought them to me the next day on the East side of Ft Worth. Although it wasn't out of his way, he had to come to Arlington to pick up some supplies. Top Notch work and don't be surprised if you call numerous times and they don't answer. Once your in the shop with all the stuff going on, you can't hear the phone ring.
Yes! He did the chrome work on the Winfield Truck. He will be doing all the plating on my car. Jackie is the only guy in the area I trust.
Not DFW, but I used Superior in Houston for some Pot metal for my 57 GMC. They did very decent "driver" quality for 1/2 price of other quotes I got. Turnaround time was reasonable as well. Good experience for me.
