There's been the announcement of many new mags here lately...which is always cool. My recent move to Minnesota accompanied a new job as Editor of a new magazine, entitled Street Thunder. Now that we've got a functional web link, I've decided to announce it here. It's not a news stand magazine, but rather the mag representing the newly-formed National Street Machine Club. The 'club' concept allows it to function as a solid subscriber-only title and we can avoid the distribution and news stand issues others must deal with. It's a concept that lends itself to Member interaction and Member-exclusive benefits like discounts and rebate programs available exclusively to members. The mag will focus on all domestic cars from the earliest rods to musclecars which have been modfied for performance and/or style. You'll see rods, customs, the whole spectrum of American street machines. You may have received one of our invitations in the mail. It was a brightly-colored package with color photos of cool modified cars all over it. We're trying something new and different, and we hope to pursue the best-possible member-exclusive deals we can on a broad range of parts, services, and more. Okay. End of commercial. http://visitors.streetmachineclub.com/home.asp You can sign up using the link, if you're interested. Yes, there's lots of traditional coolness in the works because I'm doing it and I love this stuff. There's other things too, of course, but you get the idea. Also, the mag will focus on street cars, and most of the featured rides will be owner built. The tech will all be hands-on. There will be some familiar names and faces between the covers. I'm confident many of you would enjoy it. If you have any questions, ideas, or whatever...PM me. Scotch~! Scott Parkhurst Editor Street Thunder Magazine
I just went to the website and registered. Looking forward to checking it out .............................and receiving my "sparkle and shine wash mitt" See ya next month

I'm in. Scotch is my hero! That will change if we ever meet...LOL!! Will I see you at the Autorama? Or at Denises "Strip Twister" party? I don't get to Motor City often enough, but I'll be there soon! Scotch~!
I'll be at Autorama for sure...... I wasn't invited to Denise's Strip twister party, but she was probably just looking out for everyones safety. The reflection of the spotlights off of some of my "Chrome accessories" may cause eye problems for some people...
Hey Scotch, I am interested in this especially if your straight 8 build is going to be in there. I dug those posts. What is the deal with these clubs though? I got some handyman club thing in a big orange envelope that sounds exactly the same. $1 a month thing with free products. Is it really a buck a month???
Been waiting to check out your "chrome accessories" for a while now. I sure hope you lose at the game of Twister. and just so you don't feel left out sweetie, the bash at my place is planned for that Saturday nite of the Autorama. I'll post a party post when the time gets closer.

'41- It's the same company, and yes, $24 gives you 2 years of Club Membership. Sidestepping the news stand keeps our costs in check, and this has been working for this company for the past 27 years. The Handyman club has almost a million members (970,000-plus right now). It's a good model the Street Machine Club will follow (hands-on "DIY" members who are passionate about doing their own thing)...and I'll make sure it's cool. The mag is only part of it. Scotch~!
