Thanks for the feedback, for us downunder the price for a complete kit is pretty good value compared to what the local sellers want to charge, even with shipping!

  7. A little more expensive, but excellent products. I've used both their vintage brake rebuilding stuff and front end rebuild kits. Good service. No complaints.

If you have a Packard. They are the place to go. Great parts and service. If you have anything else, you can probably find the parts cheaper.

They have great parts and their service is good, but they are pricey. They have it, you need it, and you can't get it elsewhere. They have a captive audience, so expect to pay. At least you'll get good parts in return

What kind of car are you shopping for? I have noticed that a lot of companies share certain pieces, and maybe someone here knows an alternate vendor that may be cheaper/less expensive. Kanter may be a vendor of Steele Rubber as well. Try these guys too, http://www.metromouldedmfg.com/

I believe I heard that there are only maybe 3 actual manufacturers of reproduction rubber parts. The majority of what is sold is redistributed by Kanter and others (steele may be the exception) you might also want to look a CLesters. I bought my windshield and backlight gaskets from them for my studebaker truck. They seem to have a good variety of good product but are limited to gl*** to body and weaterstripping items.

they're great for rare stuff, super personable and knowledgeable. a fair portion of what they sell is probably made by Steele. (same with chevs of the 40's for what it's worth).

A few years ago, I order a unity spotlight, online, from Chevys of the 40s. When I received it, it was the wrong model. It was the new style that is used on emerency vehicles today. I called up them up, and they tried to tell me it was the right one. Forget it, I sent it back and order one from Kanters and they sent me the right one. I was happy with it and their service that I went ahead and ordered the Unity fog lights also. I highly recommend Kanters

Kanters slogan , "Do it once and do it right" means something ! I've been buying form them since 1985. I still have a bumper sticker on an old tool box they sent me , Do it once and Do it Right , Kanter Auto supply. I wish I could say the same of a Ford supplier in North Carolina who has a problem in their shiping department . scrubba

I bought from them years ago and despite the parts being okay, their shipping was slower than grim death.

No complaints here. Paying a little more for quality, good service, and knowlegable help is a trade off I don't mind making.

I too have used em off and on since the 80s. Many years ago I ended up with several pallets of early GM control arms, all NORS. I sold em to the Kanters all 870# worth! I'm expecting a full front end rebuild get up from them today. You can't go wrong with Kanter.

They have been around for many years and I never heard a bad thing about them. They may be a little pricey, but they are in New Jersey where property taxes are through the roof, so operating expenses definitely are effected.

I'll have to be the one says Ive had some problems with them, i try to avoid them if at all possible. but like mentioned earlier, they do have hard to find parts, especially for older Packard's and Cadillacs.

if your looking for rubber, try the goat farm, in northern cali.
    alliance vendor and good guy.

  25. $$$$ Yep. The prices are a little high but these cats have the HARD TO FIND STUFF >>>>.

  26. I bought the parts to rebuild my Tbird front end from them.
The rubber parts "Made in India" and a year later the boots were rotted.
Now I have to do it again, and i'll find better OEM style parts.
I hate doing something twice. :(

I have had very good results with Kanter, unlike a certain early Chrysler parts house. Had a Hudson Jet water pump go bad after a few months, and Kanter replaced it immediately. Been fine since. Had the right parts for my early Chrysler brakes.

    Yep, recommended.

Used Kanter stuff on all of our car projects, since way back in the early 80's. No complaints, all the right stuff, and good customer service/knowledge.

Only have had reason to deal with Kanter in the last couple years.

I've had some experiences with Kanter, and unless you speak to one of the owners, their customer service ****s, also their shipping/backorder times can be long. The most fustrating part is calling and just getting transferred around and nobody will take a order or help. I have often wondered if they use some generic call center for their orders, and anything further gets transferred to Fred's voicemail.
