Haha not alot Joe...gotta do some welding and repair work on the hood and get some epoxy on it before it turns to dust....then start cleaning up all the shit I have accumulated in the yard since the spring!!

Well.. that's still getting stuff done! :)
I understand exactly what you mean by cleaning the yard of stuff. I was lucky this year and got a lot of parts (thanks) from a few folks. Now I need to organize them and get them under cover and assembled.
No epoxy on that hood yet?? Wow.. a brave man in this climate.
    Have a good one.

Good one RickyBop!:) From what I've witnessed in this thread you may not get a car from it, but there's a chance of deuce grill shell in your future from metal in your post.:p

Koolkemp, I'm really enjoying the great work you're sharing with us.

In the background of this pic you can see my rough old Caddy air breather , blasted it at the same time and got some epoxy on it too , it still needs rust repair and bodywork though, imagine that !

The pass rear fender still needed quite a bit of patching and to be fitted to the body at the rear...this is the fender I made by welding 2 crappy ones together and then lottsa patching

quite a bit of brass in it as well as some really ugly mig gobs to fill in the splash guard mounting holes as well the whole front bottom needs to be rebuilt

Forgot to take an after pic for the one above lol

the back end of the fender was pretty bad, rebuilt it with a few patches , the fenders are gonna be molded to the body after I blast and epoxy them, which hopefully I will get done tomorrow

The rear bit of the quarter panel could now be finished up with the fender fitted & repaired

I love how you Frankenstein your patch panels then grind and fill until they conform to the contours of the fenders!

I have somehow overlooked this thread til now but I got to hand it to you Koolkemp, that is some badass workmanship you got going on there! I got 3 of these 46-48's, well 2 1/2, (see pic's!) and this is the inspiration I needed to get off my ass and get back on it. The black car has a righteous body thats begging to be chopped. Thats what I been saving the other 1/2 car for! Again very good looking work!

I have been doing the chassis and motor setup over the last 6 months just assing around, it has a Yblock 292 with 3 dueces, Isky cam,11-1 cr. and a toploader and 9" rear. My intended direction was gasser and still might give it a nose-up stance instead of taildragger, not sure how that look would work with a top chop? Any thoughts? Your's is looking awesome and may have me changing directions, can't make up my mind. I'll start a thread on it soon.

I'm loving this thread! Have a 47 Ford Coupe that I'm attempting to build. Your info and photos (especially the photos) are certainly helping me. Any chance you'll be posting photos of how you attached the front fenders, brackets, etc?
Anyway....AMAZING job. I'm in awe of your talents!

Then gave them a good sanding and got some epoxy on them ...I am gonna skim the mud over the epoxy trying to keep it off the bare steel.

Before I mold them to the body I am gonna fit up the 49 Plymouth bumper and decide if I am gonna salvage the Ford gravel pan or just make My own new one ...kinda leaning towards the latter... and this last pic shows just how much rot I am dealing with this is the front brace from the hood ...I had to fix some rot where the latch locks onto it you can see where I cut out the rot !

Finally...I know your name! Didn't remember seeing it before now. And "deducing" from the sign above the door of your shop, (Assholes Garage) your full name then, is Steve Asshole, right? LOL. Ain't I a good deducer?

Always enjoy the updates, Steve. :) Rick E. Bop

You keep raising the bar.............who are you really?

All kidding aside, your workmanship is outstanding and is inspiring me to contemplate actually following through with finishing my coupe.

You hard working fellas are making us lazy ones look badder....

Look how shiny the primer is!Unless it is a different type the metal must be as smooth as silk!
