Chop looks cool...nice work to those guys at Sac Kustoms too! You guys really went at the trunk area..great idea with it all. Do you have ch***is pics? If so post somme of them too its nice to see how we all make them work!
Some more pics for you. Firewall, TCI front suspension, 4 Link, Side shot. The AccuAir system has not been mounted yet, Sac Kustoms is an AccuAir dealer so its there sitting on the shelf. Trying to get the fab work done first as it has to go to paint as soon as possible.
Looks killer. But after all that custom work on a very round car, are you really going to keep that ugly square gas door? I too agree that the light silver and cream or white is a very cl***y color combo.
Killer 54 man! I gotta say the fab-work is SUPERB! Thanks for showing all the buildup shots, especially the trunk space fab and cover. That's something that's seldom seen on all of these notched Bel Air setups. Definitely inspiration for my 54 build!
Hey church, gas door is getting filled in for sure along with the door handles, trunk lock, hood and some of the trim. The rear half of the car is amazing and different than most, but we want to keep those mods under wraps for now. Paint shop is waiting for parts as we have an early Jan 2011 deadline to finish the car. Looking at House of Color root beer lower half with off white top, but there may be some other colors added??
EXCELLENT work!!! Looks killer and I too love the color combo!!! Cant wait to see this one out at a show!!
I'd love to see some photos of the bracing for the Mustang Gas Tank, I need to do this same job on my wifes '53.
love it so far! are you planning to round off the rear side windows? or letting them meet at a point? i agree with church, shave the filler door.
These cars need to be chopped, and as little i know about Sac. Kustoms i think they will do a *****en job! Theyre 48 Merc was my favorite early style kustom when ive seen it for the 1st time last year, and w/ a debut as such i can only picturee the future as amazing!
Thanks Guys, Jesse deserves the credit as he has great vision for what is right and wrong. I learned my lesson to doubt him already. I though the rear of the car was great, but Jesse blew me away with what he has done to the front end. Keeping these mods on the down low for right now, but there are a few pics floating around.
The car looks excellent. What a huge difference the white walls made on the visual impact. I can't wait to see it in person.
Pabst, I will try and get a pic of the bracing for you. The guys have been working hard on both ends to get the car to paint so it may be a while. That M.K. Rear Windows are curved like stock but a little sharper due to the chop, pics of them are on pg 1 if you look close. That Merc is nice, he comes by the shop all the time so I'm always checking it out. Need to take it for a test drive....
Time to update and share what has been done with the rear end!!!!! Let me know what you think. Will be posting the new front end this soon it's WAY NICE, just wait.
