Hey Germ I went and looked through my book by Tex Smith, Roaring Roadsters II and it has each chapter state by state with lots of pics. Maybe that can help you in your quest for higher knowledge.
I found this club in the book called WRRA Wisconsin Roadster Racing ***oc. Maybe look at some old newspapers from that time period and see if something was written about the events or races. I know here in AZ they used to post all the race results from saturday night in the sunday papers when dirt tracking was really big and drag racing. Hope this will help you out. I just thought of something. My pops used to be in a car club in Chicago in the late 50's and has a lot of photos from shows. I will see if he remembers anything or some photos that I can post.
The only book I know of that pretty much covers East coast rodding from about 46 up is called,"Cool cars and Square rollbars" by the Schuman Brothers. It was privately printed but I think a couple of book stores carried it.If you can't find a copy I have an extra one I bought for a friend who never picked it up.
Skip Readio might know a good source. I don't know how often he checks in here, but I'll email him for you. I'll also ask one of my TyRod buds.

From an email I received back from Skip. He pretty much dittos what others here have said but he did include an email address so I wanted to p*** it along "The only one I know of is the Shuman brother's "Cool Cars and Square Roll bars" but that's about the fifties car clubs in the Northeast. Contact a.b.Shuman at squarerollbars@yahoo.com for copies."
I know it's not exectly what you are looking for but I have to throw my hat in for Cool Cars, Square Roll Bars too. That book and this car are what did me in. Now I can't go to sleep at night without thinking about taking 3" out of the roof on the coupe, or when I will find the correct rear crossmember, or the right steering wheel, or...
