40 Ford........Help me please

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by DocWatson, Sep 7, 2010.

  1. Ok so this thread is probably not going to be what you thought!:D
What I need is some good photographs of various parts of a 40 Ford!!

I need good detail shots of the structure on the insides of both the trunk (Boot, hey I'm an Aussy, thats what we call em') and the Hood (Bonnet).
I also need some good pics of running board Irons, front inner guards and the interior body structure of the body.

I know I'm asking a lot guys but I just cant find what I'm looking for on the net and I don't know anyone with a 40 coupe thats handy.
Maybe its because I am computer illiterate but hell......

Thanks in advance guys and girls.

    Doc.

    Coupe or sedan.
Look at drakes site. Lots of new 40 stuff with photos.

  3. PS Is there much difference between the front inner guard structure of a pickup to a coupe?

Re: bonnet. DeLuxe or Standard? What type of photos do you need of the bonnet? Top, underside? Latch mechanism, hinges, braces?

Even when I got my 39 much of the stock structure in the front was gone, now it is even further from stock. I don't think my pics will help a lot.

  7. Good call, I just expected the bonnet to be the same, Im building a Delux. I need pics of all the underside of the bonnet, the strengthening, latch and hinges.

I think you really need to go to Early Ford V8 site and buy the 1940 resto book. It is not one of their best books, but has a LOT of detail pics of everything.

Labold has done a great job on hood photos. Here's a few more plus a book you will need.
This is a DeLuxe hood. Standards are way different. Please post a few photos of your 40.

  12. Labold, 19fordy Thank you guys!
Dan, I will check that out, again thank you.

Bruce, I have had a look. Nice book but pricey if I want to get it here. The pics and other sites I think have given me enough of what I need though. Thanks anyway mate.

It is if you're Australian Brootal.

  16. No, not like I can afford a 40! This is for a model project, about all I can afford right now. I recently discovered that my brother managed to retrieve my '48 A40 so once I get myself financially stable again I do have a project car.

But apparently I'm not Australian now?*******, and I gave so much for the country.
