An update long over due on the sedan project. It's in color thanks to help from my buddies for the last couple of weeks. The ch***is is all ready and painted for the body so it should go togeather pretty fast. (Sorry for the ****py phone pics)
Dan,...looks real good, I like the color. ...can't wait to see it together. Will you be takin it to Sycamore this year?
Looking good, i think the color is great. Cant wait to see it back home on the Frame. Probably missed it before but what driveline are you running?
Same ol SBC and 350 turbo with a 9". Cheap for parts and parts are plentiful. Plus no matter where Im at there is a parts store not to far away that has parts in stock for it.
Nice car. Drag race rear suspension setup is the only issue. Problems with parallel ladder bars has been thrashed out enough times already, a thread search would be a good idea.
We got it on the road. Made our goal of having it on the road for the 4th thanks to my buddies help. Heres some pics for ya. Some bugs to work out on it and some things to finish still
looks ****in sick. im not a fan of the white wall that much but i do like wide whites in the back and skinnies in the front and those crome wheels look sick with that combo. i bet you get alot of attention coming down the street with that car being bright green.
The Bat Cave Princess is Awesome! Thanks for posting all the update pics! How did you come up with the measurements for the ch***is? how much rear suspension travel do you get? I'm building the frame for my 31 tudor sedan and I appreciate the insight!
thanks for the compliment on the car. For the measurment of the ch***is I figured out where I wanted the car to sit and what tire sizes I was using, the rear kickup was figured out based on what rear shocks I had to use, the front did not need to be kicked up after I was done, I had to make a new crossmember for the front that had a drop in it that was about half the kickup that matched the shape of a model a crossmember. I was talking to another reputable builder and he said he always figures 3" of rear travel to be safe. Good luck on your build
Thanks for the valuable info! I greatly appreciate your time and response. I was drooling and dreaming over the rear suspension pics. (I know I'm a car guy with twisted sense of humor!) Are your frame rails parallel (to each other) and perpendicular to the axles? We started off making a perimeter frame to match the measurements of the original. What a ***** it is making equal compound miter cuts with a chop saw or portable band saw. I really want to keep the back seat for many reasons, thus limiting the rear suspension design/styles. I appreciate your pics, they helped me visualize how to horizontally mount a set of coilovers behind the hd 9" and the lower rear body panel. Just out of curiosity, what kind of spring rate are you running in the back? Thanks once again!
I am not sure of the spring rate that the coilovers are, they are something that I picked up at a swap meet. the frame rails are not parrallel to the rear end accept the rear kickup. We tacked the rails togeather to make the cuts and bends togeather and tacked the bends to ***ure they were the same from side to side and then cut them apart to build the kickups. I hope this helps
that sedan is looking good. the tudor sedan has always been my top choice for 29-31 ford...continue to keep us posted
