got real bored at work last night so I went over to hulu and looked into TV section and down 6 pages found the whole first season of Highway Patrol wow new 55 buick 4 port hole, in the epasode ***led wrecking yard they show a new T birg with a full tild tri powered Y block in another a new vett with 200 miles on the clock and a new 55 ford wagon with a tri powered wagon with factory 2 pipes on its side. what got me was a 55 olds 88 CHIP two door. also a nice 55 Merc two door post stick car, this is car ****
One night I couldn't sleep so I flipped on the tube and here in SoCal on Channel 313 the THIS channel they run Highway Patrol and Sea Hunt (2AM to 3AM) the cars are killer lots of Chevy's, Ford's, Dodge's. One show the bad guys would rob a store then hop on Harley's (a cool panhead stock frame and a stock Sporty) then ride up a ramp into the back of a truck a few miles away then the truck would drive off. You could hear the tappets dancing on that Panhead . The Sea Hunt ones are pretty good too, they had one show where these two guys got into a fight over fishing and Mike Nelson (Loyld Bridges) just let them really go at it for a few minutes I'm talkin' knock down drag out fight. I'm thinking you'll never see that on TV today.
is that a thunder birds space car on your avtar ? Kinda funny **** dale uses the high desert as his home.
I've been recording them on the dvr for the last month. I watched a bad guy drive a '35 ford coupe down into a ravine. I checked the landmarks and I'm going this fall to see if it's still there lol
I used to stay up nights watching Broderick Crawford on Highway Patrol when I was a kid. The car I most remember him driving was the Buick Century 2 door post......didn't know you could find those flicks anywhere. Thanks for the tip! Ray
I remember watching a syndicated 30-minute show in the early 1960s called Science Fiction Theater with a car that was running amok without a driver in the desert. Seem to remember people hiding under trucks as the car speed by on the salt flats. As a very young kid this was powerful stuff to me. The science people in white smocks finally figured out how to turn the car "off"-at a stop sign. Turns out this was filmed in 1956. I haven't seen it in at least 50 years.
I watch them At 5 in the morning on Verizon channel 467 This Network .One had a 32 roadster that had olds in it.You could hear the solid lifters.I dvr them all the cars are great.
Moving up a couple of decades, there was a movie called "THE CAR". No driver but sure made alot of noise. Believe it was an early continental with a different front. Had a mind of it's own. Believe it was filmed in Utah.
It's an old thread but thought I'd bump this up... Looks like every single episode is online here: http://foxeema.blogspot.com/2012/06/highway-patrol-tv-show.html Yes, I've been watching them. That pages links you to the episodes on some video hosting site.
